The late singer Do Eun-young (Do Ye-seul) has tragically passed away 10 years ago.
The late Do Eun-young suddenly died on Aug. 3, 2015, at the age of 32. His death was shared with the public by singer Yeon Gyu-seong, who posted an obituary on his social account. At the time, Yeon Gyu-seong said, "My younger brother Do Eun-young, who sang so beautifully, has gone to heaven," expressing deep sorrow.
Previously, the late Do Eun-young debuted in the music industry by singing the OST "I Will Pray" for the drama "Strong Gold-soon" in 2005. Subsequently, he released a digital album titled "Carmen" in 2007, but his activities were hindered due to conflicts with his agency following his marriage.
He appeared on the tvN audition program "Super Diva 2012," sharing the difficult times he faced and expressing his dream of a comeback. The late Do Eun-young revealed, "I made a hasty decision at a young age. I debuted as a singer after releasing my first album, but I found it difficult to face privacy invasions and restrictions," sharing his story of deciding to marry in 2006.
He also faced a breach of contract claim from his agency due to his marriage, leading him to stand in court. Though he won the lawsuit, he suffered from severe depression and had to work as a live cafe singer to make a living, sharing the time he spent which elicited sympathy. He later gained attention by reaching the TOP8 with his outstanding singing ability.
Especially, it was revealed that the late Do Eun-young was only 8 days away from releasing a new song at the time of his death, which added to the shock. Yeon Gyu-seong, who shared the obituary, expressed his feelings of despair, saying, "Do Eun-young, who sang together since the audition box, had recorded a remake of my song 'Sad Song' for a fresh start as a singer, and we had filmed the music video as well. I can't believe it after meeting him a few days ago and laughing together while recording."
Additionally, it became even more heartbreaking when it was revealed that the late Do Eun-young had posted on his social account a message along with a profile picture stating, "Starting again, singer Do Eun-young." Many netizens left memorial comments on that post, wishing for the repose of his soul.
Ultimately, 'Sad Song,' the last recording of the late Do Eun-young, was released as scheduled on Aug. 11, 2015, after his death, through various music sites. The agency stated, "Do Eun-young's mother fervently wished for her daughter's last voice to be heard in the world," adding, "We thought that sharing this song with fans who remember her is the last gift to Do Eun-young, who has gone to heaven." Subsequently, Yeon Gyu-seong, who planned the project, delivered the music revenue to the bereaved family in consultation with the late Do Eun-young's agency.
