The group IVE has released a 'Lollapalooza' practice video.
Recently, their agency Starship Entertainment posted a video titled '[Inside Lolla] Note #1: Dance Practice & Band Rehearsal' on IVE's official YouTube channel. The video vividly captures IVE's preparations as they focus on practicing ahead of their grants at the global music festival 'Lollapalooza Berlin' and 'Lollapalooza Paris.'
On the first day of practice, IVE immersed themselves deeply in the opening composition. Jang Won-young noted, "It's a bit awkward to see people waiting in the back. I want to come out as a surprise," carefully checking the timing of their entrance and discussing ways to capture the audience's attention with the choreographer.
Following that, IVE worked up a sweat to deliver a polished performance of a total of 14 songs, including 'Rebel Heart,' 'IM,' 'Ascendio,' and 'Baddie.' The members sang while recalling their choreography, coordinating their movements with the dancers and fine-tuning the details. Their teamwork was also eye-catching, as they joked and encouraged each other during practice.
Given that the performance was conducted live with a band, practice for ensemble playing was also essential. The members did their best with every phrase to enhance the overall quality, and during this process, An Yu-jin and Lee Seo suggested shouting "I'm a what?" just before the introduction of 'Baddie,' adding laughter. This cleverly reflected a moment from last year's 'Lollapalooza Chicago' performance, where a fan shouted the line "I'm a what?" at the beginning of a song starting with "I'm a baddie," which became a meme, showcasing IVE's unique and cheerful wit.
Afterward, IVE continuously checked their choreography and carefully considered the timing of removing the standing microphone, demonstrating their professionalism. On the last day of practice, they completed their preparations by progressing to a run-through using both handheld and standing microphones. After practice, Gaeul conveyed, "Dives (official fan club name)! We have finally completed our last practice for 'Lollapalooza' and will head to Berlin soon. We'll work hard and do well there. Fighting!"
IVE made grants to the main stage of 'Lollapalooza Berlin' and 'Lollapalooza Paris' on the 12th and 20th of last month, respectively, becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at 'Lollapalooza' for two consecutive years in three different cities, leaving a significant milestone. They captivated local audiences with their high-quality performances, stable live vocals, and excellent stage presence, solidifying the existence of 'K-Pepa (festival performance).'
IVE will release their fourth mini album 'IVE SECRET' along with the title track 'XOXZ' on the 25th and make their comeback.
