Former SBS announcer Kim Beom-soo has reportedly been summoned by the special investigation team of Kim Keon-hee.
On the 3rd, the Kim Keon-hee special investigation team, which is investigating allegations of stock manipulation concerning Deutsch Motors, summoned former announcer Kim Beom-soo, according to the JoongAng Ilbo.
According to initial reports, former announcer Kim Beom-soo appeared at the special investigation team office located in the KT Gwanghwamun West Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to be questioned as a witness. The special investigation team captured evidence of stock transactions involving former announcer Kim Beom-soo during the investigation into the Deutsch Motors case and is reportedly suspicious that Kim Keon-hee may have shared information about stock manipulation with him in the process.
Former announcer Kim Beom-soo began his broadcasting career as a 6th-term announcer for TBS in 1995. He transferred to SBS as a first-term golf caster in 1999, and he gained broader recognition as an 8th-term announcer for SBS in 2000. However, just four years after joining, he left SBS in 2004.
Afterward, it was revealed that he served as an inside director at Kobana Contents, which Kim Keon-hee represented, from June 2011 to June 2014 and from March 2015 to March 2018. The earlier period overlaps with the second operation phase of the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation case, which lasted from October 2010 to December 2012.
On February 16 and 23, 2011, former announcer Kim Beom-soo appeared as a guest on the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' alongside former KBS announcer Shin Young-il and former MBC announcer Kim Sung-joo, introducing himself as an employee of a cultural content business. At the time, he actively promoted a cultural exhibition held by his company by distributing brochures for a Marc Chagall exhibition to the program's MCs and guests.
The Chagall exhibition was held by Kobana Contents from December 3, 2010, to March 27, 2011. Since former announcer Kim Beom-soo claimed to be in his third year of employment during his appearance on 'Radio Star,' it is difficult to avoid suspicion regarding the overlap between the timing of the Deutsch Motors stock manipulation and his employment at Kobana Contents.
If Kim Keon-hee actively suggested stock transactions involving Deutsch Motors to former announcer Kim Beom-soo or made any remarks that could be perceived as acknowledging stock price manipulation, it is predicted that her alleged complicity in stock manipulation will become more pronounced.
