Park Bo-gum delivered his final greetings for 'Cantabile.'
On the afternoon of the 1st, KBS2 aired the last episode of 'The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile.'
On this day, singer Kim Bum-soo and Giant were among the guests, and Park Bo-gum introduced, "The final guest is you all." He noted, "We were able to be here today because of the audience and viewers who have loved Park Bo-gum's Cantabile. I would like to read some letters from viewers who wanted to convey their feelings to me as I face the final episode, so I brought a few to share."
Park Bo-gum expressed, "I hope this program could be a comma in your lives and a time of comfort and strength through music. I wonder if it has been a fulfilling time?" He added, "Once again, I sincerely thank everyone who has waited for Cantabile and loved music."
At that moment, a new letter arrived, and Park Bo-gum remarked, "This was sent by my fellow senior, Noh Young-sim. She was my first guest," and he was surprised to say, "She gifted me a song." He stated, "I've never received such a gift before. I sincerely thank you, and I will practice this song well to convey the heartfelt sentiment I received from you to the audience and everyone who has loved Cantabile."
Later, a video letter from BTS's V drew attention. V said, "I recorded this video because Bo-gum hyung is having the last episode of Cantabile. He texted me, 'Taehyung, when are you coming out?' Unfortunately, I couldn't come because I'm in the U.S. for the next album work. I'm really disappointed, and I hope we can film together someday. Also, to all the viewers who have cherished and loved Cantabile, I hope the time spent with Bo-gum hyung becomes a lovely memory. We will come out with a great album in the spring of next year, so please show a lot of interest in BTS music. I will work hard; thank you," he concluded.
Roy Kim stated, "I heard that our Park Bo-gum is the longest-serving MC of 'The Seasons.' It is a tough job to record every week, so I wanted to express my gratitude once again for his hard work and effort. The most important thing is for him to stay healthy, and I hope he remains mentally and emotionally healthy and happy. Thank you and love you, goodbye," he added. Dragon Pony also conveyed, "Cantabile was in its early days, and we were just starting, so it was a very precious program to share each other's beginnings. I could see how much you love music, so thank you for all your hard work. I love you, Bo-gum hyung."
Following that, Jang Deulle sent a message saying, "I am in Switzerland for my honeymoon. The diamond ring came off too easily, so I had it fitted with something that wouldn't slip off easily. I will continue to support Bo-gum's potential going forward," and Jeong Soo-min said, "I've been hearing news around me saying the only thing I'm running is running, so let's run together, hyung."
Lastly, a video letter from IU appeared. She stated, "I'm sending this video message to congratulate you on your last episode today. I promised that I would come as a guest before the final recording of the first broadcast, but I'm really sorry I couldn't keep that promise. However, my heartfelt congratulations are genuine. You know I watched almost every live broadcast, right? It was truly the best during your time on Cantabile," she expressed. "I felt so sorry again for not being able to come, so I came," she added, surprising everyone.
Afterward, IU entered the stage holding a bouquet of flowers, kneeling down to present it to Park Bo-gum. Surprised and in tears, Park Bo-gum exclaimed, "What is this? When did you come?" IU explained, "Actually, I've been watching from the recording with Zaianti earlier."
Park Bo-gum remarked, "You always monitored and texted me. I wanted to invite you today, but knowing that you are busy filming a drama, I didn't rush or ask again. I never expected or anticipated that IU would show up," he stated. IU said, "Bo-gum, but the cue card is a fake cue card. You can now use this one," handing over a new cue card, and Park Bo-gum shyly responded, "I'm so embarrassed. It's so embarrassing to have shown my tears."
IU said, "I met you a few days ago at an award ceremony, but I tried to avoid eye contact because I was worried you might catch on to me." Park Bo-gum replied, "I feel so sorry because I know the situation is that I can't appear on Cantabile. So I decided to just be happy and joyful just being here together. I didn't even bring it up and wanted to say more greetings, but I was too busy to properly greet you," he shared.
Then IU asked, "What was the best thing about recording Cantabile?" Park Bo-gum replied, "The music performances by seniors Jung Dong-hwan and Kung Chi-ta were so precious to me. It was a great fortune to meet such wonderful performers." However, in terms of regrets, he mentioned, "When it ends too late, the fans or audience's return time gets delayed, so considering that time, the conversations with the artists were shortened a bit, which I regret. And after digesting the stories and music of the musicians who came out, I wanted to quickly copy this song and share it, but when I couldn't do that, it was so upsetting that I couldn't be there until the very end of the show, which is my biggest regret."
In response, IU remarked, "Why are you stopping? Keep going," and Park Bo-gum replied, "I really want to do more. I want to keep going for a long time." IU then stated, "I will be waiting. All of us Cantabile fans will always be waiting for you to come back as MC," and she passionately sang 'Red Sneakers' for him. Park Bo-gum remarked, "You came so hard to come; I can't just send you off," and they performed a duet of 'Square's Dream' and 'Heart' together.
The final song was 'Meeting on Friday.' IU said, "Didn't I sing 'Meeting on Friday' during the first broadcast? So, just like a cyclical fate. I thought it would be nice to sing 'Meeting on Friday' during the first and last recordings," and Park Bo-gum replied, "That's really great. It feels like we're closing the book beautifully and wrapping it up, so I'm grateful and happy." IU also responded, "I'm so glad to be part of the final episode, and I feel so happy as a viewer."
Park Bo-gum stated, "Today I was with my friend IU. This marks my return to The Seasons after four years. However, I sincerely thank you for making this precious visit and being together for the final recording. I have one last question. What does Park Bo-gum mean to IU?" IU replied, "I feel a strong admiration for Bo-gum. While filming 'Poxak' and watching 'Cantabile,' I admire how you possess so much talent yet don't settle, with a strong heart and humility, all at the same time, which I find very admirable. You are a friend who keeps me on my toes," she praised. Park Bo-gum reciprocated, saying, "Meeting IU also made me reflect more on myself. I hope to cherish our friendship while I wait for the day I can receive music from you as well."
After performing 'Meeting on Friday,' Park Bo-gum asked, "Did you all have a great time? I genuinely had a wonderful time. Although it's regrettable, it's time for 'Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' to say goodbye. I was truly happy to join you all in a position I previously saw as an audience member. I sincerely thank you for sharing the 21st Wednesday night with you all. To express my gratitude, I have prepared a gift for you. Thanks to many who loved and appreciated 'Uphill Road' alongside Yoon Jong-shin, there were many requests to leave this song as a digital release. It is scheduled to be released on the day this broadcast airs, so I hope for your continued support and interest," he conveyed.
He continued, "While 'Cantabile' comes to a close today, 'The Seasons' will continue, so please extend your support and encouragement to the next MC. Lastly, I will play this song to convey that you are doing well, don't stumble, and that I will always be cheering you all on in spirit, as I conclude this with 'It's Okay' by Soran."
