'How do you play?' showcased an impressive lineup even from the preliminary rounds.
The broadcast of MBC's 'How do you play?' on the 2nd featured the second preliminary blind audition along with the remaining rounds.
The 'Namsan Tower,' which presented 'Gwanghwamun Sonata' in the first round, shared, "I participated with the hope of capturing beautiful memories from the past in my songs, to share memories and time with people from our generation."
Despite outstanding skills, the members were troubled by fierce competition, and Park Young-kyu expressed, "It's fate if it doesn't work out. I respect that. But to give this opportunity... This is a strange program; I will never get angry. If I do my best, wouldn't the heavens be moved?"
When asked, 'Why do you want to participate in the music festival?' Park Young-kyu replied, "I want to sing passionately. I have many things I can do," but he also snapped, "If you're not going to let me, then don't. I won't do it. I'm not the type to beg anywhere," causing laughter. Additionally, he told Yoo Jae-suk, "I take pride in being your school junior," adding, "What's wrong with not graduating? What matters is that I got admitted. I was from the first class in Seoul. The 74th class," highlighting his seniority over Lee Yi-kyung and Yoo Jae-suk.
Hearing this, Joo Woo-jae remarked, "You're trying to push through with connections," and Park Young-kyu snapped back, "You XX," drawing laughter. He then implored Yoo Jae-suk, "Please, just once. The identity of the 'Contractor' turned out to be Park Myung-soo, as expected. A few days later, the writers and producers met at a cafe in Marronnier Park to start the second preliminary round. 'Sangbong Terminal,' which chose 'To J,' captivated all four judges, receiving immediate 'passes.' The next contestant, with 'Jongno Books,' showcased 'Sad Relationship' and enchanted the judges with just the first line. Yoo Jae-suk, captivated by their precise and clean high notes, confirmed, "This friend has a voice that will gain popularity," cheering them on. Joo Woo-jae admired, "It's a modern voice, yet gives off an 80s vibe." The second selection was 'Again to You,' which they performed perfectly, receiving unanimous 'passes.'
Meanwhile, another contestant with a distinct voice was from 'International Roller Rink.' Due to a structure that exposed him, Yoo Jae-suk firmly stated, "You don't have the skills to participate in the Seoul Music Festival," causing laughter. Next was 'Dongdaemun Stadium.' The contestant, who picked 'APT.', was easily recognizable from his hairstyle as Yoo Hee-kwan. Although he showcased a delightful stage manner, his disappointing skills led to elimination.
The fifth contestant, from 'Dong-A Planning,' passed with perfect singing skills. 'Dongbu Ichon-dong' chose 'Meeting' by Noh Sa-yeon, and Noh Sa-yeon herself made an appearance, catching everyone's attention. It was a supportive performance, not a competitive one. The last contestant, from 'Marronnier Park,' appeared holding a guitar and delivered a distinctly superior performance at the audition that astonished everyone. Haha exclaimed, "Our music festival will take off! It's going to be great!" shouting, "We've caught a big one!"
