The Seasons, hosted by Park Bo-gum, has come to an end.
The final episode of 'The Seasons - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' aired on KBS2 on the afternoon of 1st.
On this day, singer Kim Bum-soo and Giant were among the guests, and Park Bo-gum had a moment to read letters sent by viewers, saying, "The final guest is you." He added, "I hope this program serves as a pause in your lives and that it provides comfort and strength through music. I wonder if that was sufficient time for you?" He expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who waited for Cantabile and loved the music."
Meanwhile, a letter sent by composer Noh Young-shim arrived, gifting a song made for Park Bo-gum which touched him. Park Bo-gum said, "This is the first time I've received such a gift. I'm truly grateful, and I will practice this song well to convey the feelings received from my seniors to the audience and everyone who loved Cantabile."
In addition, a video letter from 'close friend' BTS's V, as well as letters from artists like Roy Kim, Dragon Pony, Jang Deul-le, and Jeong Soo-min, who have formed connections through Cantabile, were released one after another, bringing heartfelt moments.
Furthermore, a video letter from IU, who formed a connection through 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' appeared, and she said, "I left this video letter with a heart that celebrates your last broadcast today. I promised I would come as a guest before it ended when I recorded the first broadcast, but I'm really sorry I couldn't keep that promise. But my congratulatory feelings are truly sincere. You know I watched every week, right? It was truly the best while doing Cantabile." She added, "I'm really sorry I couldn't come again, so that's why I came" as she actually appeared on stage, surprising everyone.
Holding a large bouquet, IU came on stage, knelt down, and handed the bouquet to Park Bo-gum, bringing a touching moment. Park Bo-gum, who was greatly surprised, felt emotional and shed tears, asking, "What are you doing here, when did you come?" IU revealed, "Actually, I was watching since earlier when we were recording with Zico." Park Bo-gum, who knew IU was originally a fan of Cantabile, said, "I wanted to have you here today, but I knew the drama filming was busy, so I didn't rush or ask again. I never thought, anticipated, or expected that IU would come."
IU said, "We met a few days ago at an awards ceremony, and I kept avoiding eye contact in case I showed any signs of it." Park Bo-gum shared, "I felt really sorry. I knew I couldn't come to Cantabile, so I tried to let it go. Just being here makes me happy and grateful. I hadn't brought it up at all, and I wanted to say hello more, but I was so busy I couldn't greet you properly."
Park Bo-gum replied that one of the best points of doing Cantabile was, "The music performances by my seniors Jeong Dong-hwan and Kungchita were so precious and valuable to me. It was a fortune to meet such wonderful performers." Conversely, he noted that he was disappointed that, "If it ends too late, it delays fans or audience members' return, so considering that time, discussions with artists were somewhat shortened, which was disappointing. After digesting the stories of the musicians coming out and realizing this was someone I wanted to share their music and stories with, I had a strong desire to quickly copy this song and play it for you, but I couldn't do that. Just memorizing the script to introduce them was so upsetting, so it's most regrettable that I couldn't stay until the very end."
In response, IU said, "Why are you stopping? Keep going," and Park Bo-gum expressed, "I really want to do more. I want to continue on and on." IU replied, "I will wait. We, the Cantabile fans, will always be waiting for Park Bo-gum in the MC position," and sang passionately for him, with the song 'Red Sneakers.' Park Bo-gum responded, "You came here with difficulty, so I can't just let you go," and performed a duet of 'The Dream of a Square' and 'Heart' with IU accompanying him on the piano.
Finally, IU, concluding with 'Let's Meet on Friday,' reflected meaningfully on the experience and responded to the question, "What does Park Bo-gum mean to you?" saying, "I genuinely envy him to the point of going crazy. With Park Bo-gum, whether during filming 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' or while watching 'Cantabile,' I often think how can someone have so much talent and not settle, while being strong and humble at the same time? He's a friend who keeps me sharp." Park Bo-gum also responded, "Meeting IU has made me reflect on myself even more. I hope we can keep our friendship well and someday, perhaps I can receive IU's music. I will be waiting for that." IU reciprocated, saying, "I will do anything to stay together for a long time," drawing expectations.
Afterward, alone on stage again, Park Bo-gum asked, "Were you happy? I was truly happy too. Unfortunately, 'Park Bo-gum's Cantabile' is wrapping up today. It was truly a joy to be able to join as an MC in a place I had previously watched as an audience member. I sincerely thank you for being able to share the 21st Wednesday night with you all. To express my gratitude, I also prepared a gift for you all. Thanks to many people who love and cherish 'Uphill Road,' made with senior Yoon Jong-shin, there have been many requests for this song to be released as a digital track. It will be released on the day this show is aired, so please give it much support and attention."
He continued, "Though Cantabile comes to an end today, The Seasons is set to continue, so please support and encourage the next MC as well. Lastly, through this song, I want to convey that you are all doing well, do not stumble, and that I am always cheering for you in your hearts, by playing this song, I will say goodbye here," and wrapped up 'Cantabile' with a performance of 'It's Okay' by Suran.
