Voice actor and broadcaster Seo Yu-ri expressed anger and rebutted the explanation of her ex-husband, Director Choi Byeong-gil, regarding a debt of 2 billion won.
On the 2nd, Seo Yu-ri uploaded a screenshot of a post by Director Choi Byeong-gil made the previous day on her social account, saying, "I don't understand why you are suddenly picking a fight with me when I was just standing still."
Previously, Director Choi Byeong-gil posted on the 1st regarding the debt conflict with Seo Yu-ri, stating, "The debt owed to Seo Yu-ri is not for my personal use but entered into the 'Lona Universe' project which both Seo Yu-ri and I have 50:50 equity ownership. Of course, a lot of my personal money was also invested, and due to the deterioration of the business management, I have now reached a state of bankruptcy."
He said, "While the equity was split 50:50, I became solely responsible for the business liabilities and as a result, my house in Yeouido was sold at a low price. The house in Yongsan was put up for auction. In any case, I am trying to take responsibility and repay the debt I owe to Seo Yu-ri," adding, "Ultimately, I want to clarify once again that I did not personally misuse Seo Yu-ri's money to create this situation, which is why I am writing this for the first time."
Seo Yu-ri registered her marriage with Director Choi Byeong-gil in 2019 and became a couple, but announced their divorce in March of last year, just five years later. This process revealed a debt conflict between the two, leading to a mudslinging fight. Afterward, Seo Yu-ri found herself burdened with a debt amounting to 2 billion won following her divorce from Director Choi Byeong-gil, and revealed that she had repaid about 1.3 billion won to date through selling assets such as her house and performing advertising and broadcasting activities.
In the meantime, Director Choi Byeong-gil stated that the cause of the debt is for the Lona Universe business, which they established as co-representatives.
Seo Yu-ri rebutted, "Have you forgotten about the time with Lona Universe? I had no equity. Deputy CEO Choi X-ho clearly stated that I have no equity. There are recordings as evidence. Moreover, I have never swiped even a single won on the Lona Universe corporate card."
He expressed anger, saying, "Business liabilities? Was that really all business liabilities? Your remaining debt from studying in the U.S., loans from the second financial sector for your house in Yeouido that you were straining for, and the costs for purchasing a Ferrari? Why do you make excuses using the Lona Universe? Please stop with the lies that will be exposed if we just look at one bank transfer record. Additionally, he warned, "If you continue to claim falsehoods, I will unfortunately have no choice but to disclose decisive evidence to the public."
