Singer and actor Yang Dong-geun participated in an event hosted by a pastor who supported former President Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law and left a meaningful message after facing criticism.
On the 2nd, Yang Dong-geun posted on his social media account, "I was foolish to believe in you. Kids, feel free to be disappointed and curse as much as you want. You have the freedom to do so. I can't just make an extreme choice, can I?" along with a photo.
In the publicly released photo, Yang Dong-geun is seen playing with a child, with "XX" written on his forehead in white marker. On his cheeks, marks symbolizing vulgar gestures are drawn.
Additionally, Yang Dong-geun posted a video with the caption "Wash it Whither than snow". The video contains footage of him performing with his Contemporary Christian Music group at a youth camp hosted by Pastor Son Hyun-bo at the Busan Segyero Church on the 30th of last month.
Known as a devout Christian, Yang Dong-geun expressed, "It was such a graceful time," but the pastor who hosted the performance, Son Hyun-bo, is known for his strong conservative stance and has made comments that seem to endorse former President Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law and to believe in conspiracy theories surrounding election fraud.
Yang Dong-geun faced suspicions of endorsing martial law by attending this performance. In response, the agency stated, "We have no personal relationship with Pastor Son. He participated in the Christian event purely out of religious faith," but the controversy is escalating. Yang Dong-geun expressed his disappointment in strong terms and is prepared to face criticism.
Meanwhile, Yang Dong-geun recently appeared in the Netflix originals "Squid Game 2" and "Squid Game 3."
