Girls' Generation's 'center syndrome' incident brings together the complete group once more, moving fans worldwide as their 18-year friendship continues
The second-generation girl group Girls' Generation has reunited as a complete group ahead of their 18th anniversary. Recently, as Tiffany and Yoona's center syndrome incident on the YouTube channel 'Bubbling' garnered attention, jokes and misunderstandings surrounding it have ended in laughter in the face of the members' strong friendship.
In a video released on the 30th, Tiffany remarked, "Yoona is the epitome of a girl group," adding, "I will reveal the story of 'the original center' today," while Yoona expressed, "I often hear remarks like 'Aren't you the center?' In fact, I've seen articles where Tiffany said, 'I would die if I'm not the center.'"
In response, Tiffany said, "That article's title is accurate. I spoke provocatively. However, there is a member with a true center syndrome," and pointed to Sooyoung, eliciting laughter. This is because Tiffany had previously made comments related to center syndrome. A joke made in a playful atmosphere had been exaggerated. Tiffany, who was somewhat taken aback by this, added, "Yoona is a natural center, but Sooyoung definitely has a strong desire to be the center. She acknowledged it herself," continuing in a playful manner. Yoona also cheerfully clarified, "I don't have that syndrome. I don't talk about such things with the members."
Thus, immediately after the lighthearted incident ended in laughter, it was the complete reunion of Girls' Generation that truly warmed the hearts of their fans.
On August 1, Tiffany posted several photos and videos on her social media with the caption "yay its august." The photos capture the eight members who gathered again to celebrate Tiffany's birthday and the 18th anniversary of Girls' Generation's debut.
Dressed casually and wearing matching sunglasses, the members celebrated by sticking candles into pancakes and singing happy birthday, showcasing their unchanged chemistry. In particular, the attendance of Sunny, who could not join the gathering last year due to overseas stay, added to the joy.
Despite the 'center syndrome' incident involving Yoona and Tiffany, the sight of them gathering once again to laugh and celebrate alongside each other showcased the depth and strength of their friendship that has lasted for 18 years.
Fans responded explosively worldwide, saying things like, "The real Girls' Generation is eternal," "Even if they bicker, their genuine kindness shows true friendship," "It's moving to see the full second generation," and "Seeing Sunny back makes the complete group feel even more touching."
Since their debut in 2007, Girls' Generation has established themselves as Korea's representative girl group, leaving behind numerous hits such as 'Into the New World', 'Gee', 'Tell Me Your Wish', and 'Lion Heart'. Currently, they are active in various fields as actors, solo singers, and broadcasters, but they continue to move fans tremendously whenever they come together with one heart during these special moments.
