TOMORROW X TOGETHER member Taehyun's delicate emotions were captured in the music video.
At midnight on the 1st, the music video for 'Bird of Night,' a track from TOMORROW X TOGETHER's (Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Hueningkai) 4th studio album 'The Star's Chapter: TOGETHER,' was released on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel. This song, which Taehyun contributed to in songwriting and composition, is an R&B genre featuring a lyrical introduction, simple rhythm, and synthesizer sound. It conveys the message that sleepless nights filled with anxiety are essential for moving forward into tomorrow.
The music video contains the emotions of the song. In the video, Taehyun spends time alone at night while everyone else is asleep. His lonely eyes and dry face suggest his anxious moments.
The delicate direction maximizes the song's message. The space of alternating darkness and light shows the emotional changes surrounding 'me.' The numerous tapes stacked in the room, with names written on them, represent the anxiety weighing down on 'me.' Among them, the tape with a name erased signifies that confusion fades with the passage of time.
Taehyun noted through his agency HYBE Music, "I wanted to show my dry and worn-out face to convey the mood of the song. I like this new look, which is not a clean and glamorous image. The direction and color tone of the video match well with the song's emotional line."
Meanwhile, TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been making a mark by achieving three crowns on major weekly charts at home and abroad with their 4th studio album 'The Star's Chapter: TOGETHER.' In Japan, they topped the 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking' with their highest team score (as of Aug. 4, collection period: July 21-27), and also secured first place in the 'Weekly Album Ranking' and 'Weekly Western Music Album Ranking' during the same collection period. On Billboard Japan, they reached number one in 'Top Album Sales' and 'Hot Albums,' along with landing at the top of the rising chart 'Hot Shot Song' with the title track 'Beautiful Strangers.' In the latest weekly chart by Circle Chart (collection period: July 20-26), they recorded first place in the album and retail album categories, while the title track topped the download section.
