Previously, Kim Jin-young (Dex), who transformed into an actor from entertainment shows, began full-scale acting activities through the ENA drama 'The Defects.' This work, which premiered on July 21st, is an action thriller depicting the revenge of children who were abandoned by their adoptive parents and survived on the brink of death, and he is acting alongside Yum Jung-ah, Won Jina, Choi Young-jun, and Lee Na-eun.
Dex plays the role of 'Jung-hyun,' the actual operator of an illegal adoption and trafficking organization, transforming into a brutal and cold-hearted human weapon. He leaves a strong impression through his cold demeanor and emotionless gaze, particularly in scenes where he deals with a reporter covering upper-class newborn transactions.
However, reactions to his acting were mixed immediately after the broadcast. Some viewers pointed out, "His empty gaze and awkward walk hinder immersion," and noted, "Even short lines come off as awkward," highlighting the newcomer actor's lack of detail.
On the other hand, considering it was his first acting challenge, positive responses were not lacking. In particular, the production team also highly evaluated Dex's potential for growth. Among them, Director Choi Byung-gil also caught attention by leaving sincere supportive comments for Kim Jin-young on social media.
