The subculture specialty label GRIM Production has signed virtual artist Myamumyu.
GRIM Production is attempting to expand its virtual intellectual property (IP) starting with its self-produced virtual idol WISHes. Following the signing of a contract with virtual artist M0I in April, it is announcing today (1st) the recruitment of Myamumyu and solidifying its position as a virtual content specialty brand.
Myamumyu, who debuted in 2022, is known for her bright and energetic vocal tone, and she released her first cover song in September 2023. Since then, Myamumyu has showcased a variety of cover song content across different genres in various forms, including solo and unit performances. Earlier this year, she also participated in the virtual streamer singing competition '1st Virtual ON-LIVE.'
Myamumyu received evaluations from the judges at the time, stating, "She brings joy to listeners, demonstrating a thorough grasp of the basics," and "She understands the characteristics of the song and sings while having fun." Having been selected as one of the final three among over 100 applicants, Myamumyu released her first unit single in August as part of the virtual idol unit GLIMMerS.
After connecting with GRIM Production through the virtual streamer singing competition, Myamumyu went on to participate in GRIM Production's new project 'GRIMMIX PROJECT' while completing discussions for an exclusive contract alongside the release of her first original single 'Ma More Mories.'
GRIM Production stated, "We reconfirmed Myamumyu's growth potential as a virtual artist through the two previously conducted projects before the exclusive contract," adding, "Based on the artist's unique worldview, we will provide diverse content and support various activities, showcasing teamwork as creative partners for mutual growth."
Meanwhile, GRIM Production, which announced the exclusive contract with Myamumyu, has completed a lineup of distinctive artists including virtual idol WISHes, Yurisa, and virtual artist M0I since its launch in June last year, and is set to debut a new virtual idol this coming fall.
