Seo Hyo-rim reveals the site of damage from the unremedied torrential rain... netizens express, "It breaks my heart."
Actress Seo Hyo-rim has once again revealed the site of damage caused by record-breaking rainfall, evoking sympathy for the reality that remains unremedied.
On July 29, Seo Hyo-rim posted a short message saying "Um..." along with a photo on her social media. The shocking scene captured in the photo shows a vehicle placed on a massive rock that has been displaced by a landslide. The surroundings were filled with mud and standing water, and the vehicle's exterior was visibly scratched, revealing remnants of the horrific event from that day.
Earlier, on July 20, Seo Hyo-rim reported being isolated due to the washout of a road near her villa in Gapyeong from the heavy rain. He expressed the urgency of the situation, saying, "Electricity and water have been cut off, and we are disconnected from the outside world," and the accompanying photos depicted collapsed mounds of earth, broken trees, flooded roads, and damaged vehicles left in a devastating state.
It seems that the situation has not improved significantly since then. On August 1, he posted a video of a damaged vehicle with a message saying, "This is what happened after three weeks...ㅠㅠ The traces of that day are truly devastating." In the video, the vehicle was completely covered in mud, and it seemed still far from returning to normal life. Seo Hyo-rim said, "Seeing it in person makes my heart feel so heavy," expressing a sense of helplessness and emotional pain that words cannot convey.
The villa in Gapyeong, to which he has devoted affection, also suffered significant damage. He expressed gratitude, saying, "My beloved house in Gapyeong is currently...ㅜㅜ I thank the local government officials and soldier brothers who are working hard on recovery. It's truly exhausting in this hot weather." He added, "I sincerely hope there are no further victims and that everyone can return to their ordinary lives," conveying his condolences for those affected.
Upon hearing the news, netizens sent messages of support and comfort, saying things like, "It's so tragic," "It breaks my heart," and "I pray that the recovery happens quickly." Some fans also voiced their concerns for Seo Hyo-rim's psychological well-being, stating, "The damage is significant enough to leave a trauma," and "I hope you recover slowly."
Meanwhile, the Gapyeong area in Gyeonggi Province, where Seo Hyo-rim suffered damage, experienced severe consequences from torrential rain that exceeded 70 mm per hour on July 20, resulting in 52 landslides and flooding of the Jojongcheon River. There were extensive damages, including human casualties, dwellings, vehicles, and roads, and Seo Hyo-rim is among the celebrities who suffered direct damage and is still spending time on recovery efforts.
