In "Problem Child in House," the trot singer Park Seo-jin, known as the 'God of Janggu,' captured viewers' attention by revealing his astonishing schedule and performance fees.
On July 31, Park Seo-jin appeared as the first solo talk show guest on KBS2's entertainment program "Problem Child in House", showcasing his candid and delightful wit. Currently, Park Seo-jin is also featured in the KBS entertainment program "Salimnam," and it was impressive to see him convey his gratitude by saying, "KBS was the background of my success. I have grown this much."
In particular, on that day's broadcast, Park Seo-jin confessed, "At times, I've handled 5 to 7 events a day." He demonstrated the true professionalism of a 'God of Events' by stating, "From a marathon stage at 7 a.m. to night events, and if I'm lucky, I can perform at 5 events in a row in one area."
He said, "I have to change vehicles once every 1 to 2 years due to frequent travel. When it's busy, I sometimes drive 2,300 kilometers in just 3 to 4 days during a month-long event period," revealing his hectic lifestyle where even meals are taken care of in the car.
Another eye-catching aspect was his unique event experiences. He mentioned, "I have performed at an event with 1,000 shamans," noting that it was nerve-wracking to perform while playing the janggu, but the shamans followed the official choreography perfectly. Additionally, he shared a mind-blowing episode of having sung while riding 12 wooden horses and carrying a pig at the Gyeryongsan Mountain God Ritual, surprising the cast.
Park Seo-jin, who has reinvented himself as the 'God of Events' while traveling across the country, revealed that his performance fee has almost increased by 100 times compared to the past. He stated, "In the past, I received 100,000 to 200,000 won, but now it's 100 times that," mentioning that it's now possible to earn 10 million won, all while acknowledging his growing value and expressing his humble concern that "raising it too much now could scare me about the fall later. I worry it might undermine my self-esteem."
Despite this, Park Seo-jin shared, "What's better than money is the happiness of being invited by so many people," conveying his heartfelt sentiment that he values the love of his fans as his greatest reward.
