The channel revenue alone is more than 100 million won a month. The delivery cost from one platform is about 43 million won a year.
YouTuber Tzuyang, known for her 'mukbang' (broadcast showing eating), appeared on MBC TV's 'Radio Star' on the 30th and disclosed her revenue and expenditure this way. Tzuyang has approximately 12.2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
Tzuyang said, "The channel revenue is about 100 million won a month," adding, "There were times in the past when it exceeded 100 million won significantly." She noted, "In the U.S. and Japan, the view rate differs, so the revenue is higher there. Sometimes, the earnings are lower."
The expenditure is also reported to be considerable. Tzuyang stated, "As much as income comes in, much goes out. The content production cost is proportional to the revenue," and added, "There are so many employees. I am also running a restaurant. The food costs are high, so the revenue is not as great as one might think."
When asked about her 'annual food expenses,' Tzuyang replied, "I recently checked one delivery app, and the annual order amount is about 43 million won." She continued, "The installed apps are three, but I mainly use two," and said, "Since I do mukbangs, my food costs are quite high. Recently, I spent a record high of 3 million won for one meal." At that time, Tzuyang added that she ordered one king crab weighing 8 kg and 7-8 crabs weighing 3-4 kg.
Famous for eating a lot of food at once, Tzuyang said, "I have four refrigerators in total for beverages, frozen foods, ingredients and sauces, and kimchi," adding, "I also have a separate snack pantry." She noted, "I consume what I have stacked in two days. Seeing empty space makes me anxious, so I order more," and added, "I change the refrigerated food every three days and the frozen food periodically."
Regarding health, she said, "I recently had a health check-up, and everything came back clean. My blood sugar level was good, and the gastroscopy results were fine," and stated, "My stomach is 30% larger than that of an average woman." She continued, "I can eat up to 20 ramen noodles. Even if I'm full, it usually takes 10 minutes to feel better," adding, "I digest quickly. I'm not exercising right now. In fact, if I do exercise, my muscles build up, and I gain weight."
She is also active in donations. Tzuyang said, "Since it's a beloved profession, I thought, 'I should share some.'" She stated, "I am practicing small acts of kindness. For the celebration of reaching 10 million subscribers, I donated 100 million won together with corporations. Now I do it monthly and plan to do more in the future."
