Anchor Um Ji-in, who had been on vacation, kept watch over the last moments of anchor Kim Jae-won, with whom she shared duties as the host of 'Morning Forum.'
The 'Flourishing Life Lessons' segment of KBS1's 'Morning Forum,' which aired on the 31st, was themed 'Small signs threatening old age.'
The broadcast was delayed by about 30 minutes due to a special news report on the conclusion of the South Korea-U.S. trade negotiations. Kim Jae-won, who began the last broadcast of 'Morning Forum' somewhat late, said, 'I greeted you a little later than usual. I hope our country does well in the future. As our country thrives, 'Morning Forum' should thrive, and so should I.'
Anchor Um Ji-in, who had temporarily left her position due to vacation, also joined. She said, 'Since my family is overseas, this vacation is the only time of the year I get to be with them for a whole week, and it was disappointing to part ways with Kim Jae-won.'
Um Ji-in added, 'As soon as I got off the plane, I came to Yeouido. I came to do the last broadcast with Kim Jae-won.'
In response, Kim Jae-won said, 'It's been more than 30 years since I joined KBS in 1995, and it has been 28 years since I greeted you at the 'Morning Forum' Saturday event in April 1997. I am planning to part ways now, so please join me in this beautiful farewell.'
Meanwhile, succeeding Kim Jae-won as the host to partner with Um Ji-in is 50th class anchor Park Cheol-kyu. The production team noted, 'We determined that anchor Park Cheol-kyu's positive energy and empathy align well with the values pursued by 'Morning Forum,' and we anticipate delivering a fresher and more beneficial morning experience to viewers through new synergy with existing host Um Ji-in.'
