The planning agency operated by broadcaster and entrepreneur Song Eun-yi is expanding. With a roster that includes entertainers, actors, and even well-known writers, the strategy for recruitment is drawing attention.
On the 30th, during her appearance on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' Song Eun-yi mentioned her connection with writer Park Cheon-hyu, whom she recently signed an exclusive contract with.
Park Cheon-hyu, who recently achieved an impressive 6 awards (Best Musical, Best Book, Best Original Score, Best Direction, Best Performance by a Leading Actor, Best Scenic Design) at the Tony Awards for 'Accidental Happy Ending,' has marked a significant milestone in Korean musical history.
In response, Yoo Jae-suk exclaimed, "Are you going global?" and Song Eun-yi clarified, "It wasn't because I was trying to go global. Jeon Mi-do joined us recently, and she reached out saying, 'I can't handle the influx of friends like this,' and she suggested we meet."
Jeon Mi-do has been active since the premiere of the musical 'Accidental Happy Ending' in 2016, playing the role of Claire, which has consequently connected her with writer Park Cheon-hyu.
Song Eun-yi explained, "What we could offer was to present the opportunities we had and suggested meeting with others. I received a call the day before she went to New York, and that's how I ended up joining."
Media Lab Sisso, which signed an exclusive contract with writer Park Cheon-hyu, is a planning agency established by comedian Song Eun-yi. The agency represents many broadcasters including Song Eun-yi, Shin Bong-seon, Ahn Young-mi, Jang Hang-jun, Kwon Il-yong, Kim Su-yong, Jo Hye-ryeon, Park So-ra, and Hwang Jeong-hye, as well as actors such as Bong Tae-gyu, Kim Sung-beom, Lim Hyeong-jun, Kim Gi-ri, Cha Seon-woo, Bae Je-gi, Ok Ja-yeon, Lee Da-eun, Choi Kang-hee, and Jeon Mi-do. Notably, writer Kim Eun-hee, known for hit series like 'Sign,' 'Ghost,' 'Signal,' 'Kingdom,' and 'The Uncanny Counter,' is also affiliated with the agency.
Writer Kim Eun-hee signed an exclusive contract with Media Lab Sisso in June 2023 and stated, "This is an historically significant day for me. (Sisso) is the company I've coveted." He elaborated, "Jang Hang-jun always praises the agency so much that whenever he returns from there, he seems happier and more upbeat."
In response, director Jang Hang-jun shared a story, saying, "When I was feeling down about a film's performance, a writer jokingly asked me, 'Director, does that mean I have a Maltese with tear stains now?'"
Meanwhile, Song Eun-yi mentioned that the company has a seven-story building located in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, and that there are over 50 employees.
Yoo Jae-suk commented, "You even have a grand building in Sangam-dong with the title of '100 billion CEO' attached to you," to which Song Eun-yi replied, "That's just a vague claim; I really don't have 100 billion won. I'm just happy to have it here."
In reply, Cho Sae-ho remarked, "I've heard the company's building is worth around 7 billion won at current prices," further fueling the '100 billion CEO' rumors, while Song Eun-yi clarified, "It's not for investment purposes. It was built to allow us to shoot content anywhere. You could say it's an investment in our facilities."
