'MZ wannabe icon' IVE (An Yujin, Gaeul, Rey, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Lee Seo) is continuing its global success by topping the Japan Oricon chart.
According to the latest chart released by Japan Oricon on July 30, IVE's third album in Japan, 'Be Alright,' debuted at number one on the 'Daily Album Ranking' upon its release.
Having topped the chart with their second album in Japan, 'Alive,' released in August last year, IVE showcased its unwavering popularity in the local market with this new release in Japan, proving its strength as a 'global icon' after approximately 11 months.
The new album 'Be Alright' includes the title track of the same name, the OST 'Dare Me' for the Japanese NTV drama 'Dameman! - Unmarketable Talent, Management!' and the Japanese versions of the songs 'Ascendio,' 'Blue Heart,' and 'WOW' from their second regular album 'IVE SWITCH,' totaling five tracks.
In particular, the title track 'Be Alright,' which was pre-released on the 16th, conveys a message of not fearing change and moving forward. Since its release, it not only entered the real-time and daily 'Top 100' charts on Line Music in Japan but also made its mark on the Billboard Japan 'Hot 100,' 'Hot Shot Songs,' and 'Download Songs' charts, signaling a bright future for their local activities.
Having officially debuted in Japan in October 2022, IVE held its first world tour, 'Show What I Have,' becoming the first Korean artist to host a concert at K-Arena Yokohama and entered the Tokyo Dome, known as the 'dream stage,' which hosts top-tier global artists, attracting approximately 95,000 spectators over two days, demonstrating its solid influence in Japan.
Additionally, in April, IVE communicated with about 100,000 fans through its fan concert tour 'IVE SCOUT IN JAPAN,' and announced its appearance at the upcoming 'Rock in Japan Festival 2025,' reaffirming its hot popularity in the local scene.
Through the new album 'Be Alright,' IVE is once again capturing global fans' hearts with its unique confident and independent charm. As it achieves remarkable results across various charts, there is keen interest in how far the 'IVE Syndrome,' which has swept across Japan, will extend.
Meanwhile, IVE is finalizing preparations for its domestic comeback, confirmed for the end of August.
