An anonymous exposé is heating up online. Amid claims that a male celebrity, referred to as Mr. A, received 8 million won as a "hush money" from his agency, the actor identified as A strongly denied the rumor, stating, "This is not true."
On the 28th, a post titled "I received 8 million won from my ex-boyfriend's agency" was posted in the anonymous workplace community Blind.
The author, Mr. A, alleged in the post that her ex-boyfriend, the celebrity Mr. A, was suspected of dual dating, stating, "He said he would reveal his marriage preparations with a new girlfriend on a variety show within six months, and since the dates might not align well, he would send 8 million won in advance."
She continued, "When I asked for the exact meaning, I was told that the dating timeline could come out as before I broke up, which implied it was a rebound or cheating."
Mr. A noted, "I also heard comments like 'Didn't you think of going all the way to marriage?' and expressed that 'it's my freedom to refuse to accept money under the pretext of hush money.'
While the author did not mention the celebrity's real name or specific show name, she left a hint in the comments, stating, "He's not a hot actor, but if you're over 30, you'd know his name."
Subsequent comments online identified specific actors, and as speculation grew, on the 30th, a spokesperson for one actor identified as A emphasized to OSEN, "(The rumor) is not true, and upon verification, Mr. A is unrelated to this exposé."
As of now, no concrete evidence or fact-checking has been conducted regarding the exposé. However, with the absence of real names mentioned, the pointing and accusations towards a real person have raised concerns about the risks of one-sided exposés and the potential for secondary victimization.
