Ahead of its first broadcast, the cast of 'Our Golden Days' selected key themes for the work to pique viewers' interest.
KBS 2TV's new weekend drama 'Our Golden Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok / written by So Hyun-kyung / produced by Studio Coming Soon, Studio Bom, Monster Union) is about the "shared family melodrama that explores what it means to be a true family through the various trials and pains experienced by different generations."
'Our Golden Days' has brought together director Kim Hyung-seok, known for his delicate direction, writer So Hyun-kyung, who has received love from viewers for her solid writing skills, and a trusted cast of talented actors, creating a stunning combination that will take charge of weekend primetime.
Firstly, Jung Il-woo defined 'Our Golden Days' as "my story." He noted, "Each character's narrative feels both ordinary and special, and, at the same time, feels like our story, so viewers will often find themselves thinking, 'That's me.' It's not someone else's story; it's our story. I think that's the charm of this drama."
Jung In-sun referred to 'Our Golden Days' as "our four seasons," saying, "I felt that each character in the drama is going through their own season. However, as the story progresses, it's impressive that they are not stuck in one season but are constantly changing." She added, "I think viewers who are living in their own seasons will deeply empathize with characters who are experiencing similar seasons in the drama."
Yoon Hyun-min described 'Our Golden Days' as "exhilarating." Returning to KBS after five years, he explained, "Getting to work on lengthy projects again makes me feel like I'm returning to my roots. The mere thought of meeting many viewers makes 'Our Golden Days' exhilarating for me," encouraging viewers to watch the show live.
Meanwhile, Lee Tae-ran identified the keyword for 'Our Golden Days' as "family melodrama." She said, "Through the various hardships and pains that parent and child generations experience, this drama will explore what true family means, increasing expectations for the show."
Finally, Shin Su-hyun, Son Sang-yeon, and Park Jung-yeon added that 'Our Golden Days' represents "happiness," "a drama to enjoy together," and "a holiday." Shin Su-hyun stated, "I feel very happy to be part of 'Our Golden Days.' Above all, I hope many viewers feel happiness through this drama," explaining her choice of keywords. Son Sang-yeon remarked, "There are depictions of hardships and conflicts experienced by each generation, making it a drama that allows audiences to cry and laugh together while empathizing with one another." 'Our Golden Days' will premiere on Saturday, August 9, at 8 p.m., following 'For Eagle Brothers.'
