Global artist Jackson Wang has made history once again in the global music market with his second studio album, 'MAGIC MAN 2'.
According to the latest chart released by the American music media Billboard on the 29th (as of Aug. 2), Jackson's second studio album, 'MAGIC MAN 2', which was released on the 18th, entered the main album chart 'Billboard 200' at 13th place, marking his career's highest ranking and proving his global status.
In particular, this achievement surpassed the previous work 'MAGIC MAN' released in 2022 (15th on 'Billboard 200'), as Jackson set a new record. 'MAGIC MAN 2' sold over 32,000 copies in its first week, ranking 4th in 'Top Album Sales', 3rd in 'Vinyl Albums', and 2nd in 'Indie Store Album Sales'. Additionally, the album debuted at 9th on Spotify's 'Top Album Debut U.S.' chart, showcasing a strong presence in the global market.
Zane Lowe, an Apple Music radio host, praised the album, stating, "It captures the essence of human stories within modern pop music," while Zach Sang from Amazon Music remarked, "Both the album and the music are incredibly well-crafted."
Jackson wrote, composed, and produced all the tracks himself, presenting his most refined work that encapsulates his musical world. He noted regarding this album, "I poured my feelings about the music industry, society, family, and reality into it. It's a record of asking and answering myself on how to find balance amidst life's ups and downs."
After the release, Jackson's global influence was confirmed through social media and local events. A fan signing event at Barnes & Noble in New York drew numerous fans, causing lines to extend into nearby streets, and on TikTok, 'Made Me a Man' is rapidly gaining traction. The single 'GBAD' continues its upward trend with over 55,000 TikTok videos and more than 32 million views on YouTube.
Jackson has also proven his global attention through interviews with major international media outlets like Billboard, Hypebeast, WWD, and NME, as well as gracing the global covers of L'Officiel in 10 countries, including the U.S., China, Italy, and Paris.
In 2023, Jackson made history at Coachella by performing three times as a solo artist, which is rare, and topped the global real-time trend on X (formerly Twitter) during that time, drawing strong reactions from fans.
