In 'Eunsu's Good Day,' actor Kim Young-kwang transforms into a character with two faces who hides secrets beyond the canvas.
The new KBS 2TV Saturday-Sunday miniseries 'Eunsu's Good Day,' set to premiere on Sept. 20, features a story about Kang Eunsu, a parent who wants to protect her family, and Lee Kyung, a two-faced teacher, who engage in a dangerous and desperate partnership after accidentally acquiring a bag of drugs.
In the series, Kim Young-kwang plays the character 'Lee Kyung,' who leads a double life as a prestigious university graduate and popular after-school art teacher by day, and a mysterious club MD by night. He is adored by female students at the middle school attended by Eunsu's (played by Lee Young-ae) daughter, Sua, but underneath hides a persona shrouded in mystery regarding his name, age, and occupation. He finds himself at a crossroads when Eunsu, in need of money, proposes a partnership along with the bag of drugs.
The second teaser poster, released today (30th), features a warm image of Kim Young-kwang sitting in front of an easel in a space filled with gentle sunlight. However, his gaze is not focused on the canvas, but rather on a casually placed Boston bag, which creates a strange tension. His calm expression contrasts with his piercing gaze, amplifying curiosity about the true face of Lee Kyung hidden beyond the canvas.
The ominous question, "Are there people who get rich just by doing good deeds in this world?" reveals Lee Kyung's harsh reality and complex inner self. The character 'Lee Kyung,' played by Kim Young-kwang, is a key figure who navigates the boundary between good and evil, driving the tension in the story. He is expected to portray an attractive character with a consistently cold demeanor while occasionally exhibiting subtle emotions that are difficult to unpack.
The production team noted, "With this teaser poster, we aimed to capture the hidden face of Lee Kyung, who appears calm on the outside. The contrast created by the warm image of the art teacher sitting in front of the easel and his mysterious gaze towards the Boston bag symbolically represents the identity of Lee Kyung, a character with two faces." They added, "Viewers can look forward to how Kim Young-kwang will portray Lee Kyung, who gradually transforms in unintended directions, through this dialogue that is an actual line from the drama."
'Eunsu's Good Day' is the result of a collaboration between director Song Hyun-wook, recognized as a master of detail who has explored various genres, and writer Jeon Young-shin, known for her dense realism and delicate writing skills. It features a cast including Lee Young-ae, Kim Young-kwang, Park Yong-woo, along with Bae Soo-bin, Jo Yeon-hee, and Hwang Jae-yeol.
