Director Yoo Je-won of 'Love, Take Two' revealed the character and casting stories.
On the afternoon of the 30th, an online production presentation for the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Love, Take Two' took place, where Director Yoo Je-won smiled awkwardly at the mention that the names of the characters in the drama are similar to those of celebrities like Lee Hyori, Ryu Jung-seok, Ji-an, and Ryu Bo-hyun, saying, "That wasn't my intention. The writer wrote it, so it may show intent, but..."
However, he emphasized, "In the case of Lee Hyori, there will be discussions about the name later," raising expectations.
'Love, Take Two,' which will air for the first time on Aug. 4, depicts the story of single mother Ji-an (played by Yum Jung-ah) and her medical student daughter Lee Hyori (played by Choi Yoon-ji), who decide to live for today's happiness rather than tomorrow's, portraying the story of first love that is not an ending. Park Hae-joon plays Ji-an's first love, Ryu Jung-seok, while Kim Min-kyu plays his son, Ryu Bo-hyun.
Director Yoo Je-won stated, "I wanted to try it with both Yum Jung-ah and Park Hae-joon. Ji-an has a lot of emotional expressiveness and quick transitions. There can be a burden, but actress Yum Jung-ah naturally expresses deep emotions with a good rhythm. I wanted Jung-seok to be a rough but genuinely felt character, and Park Hae-joon fits perfectly. He seems a bit clumsy, yet he strikes the heart with just one word. It's innate charm. I'm fortunate to have actors who fit the roles."
He continued, "Choi Yoon-ji and Kim Min-kyu auditioned and passed fairly with their good acting. I hope Lee Hyori gets support, and Choi Yoon-ji is like that. She has no pretense and a big sincerity. If Choi Yoon-ji plays this role, the audience will likely think, 'I hope it goes well.' Watching Kim Min-kyu, I resolved not to be swayed by that appearance. I thought he might lack in acting due to that look, but he did so well. It was surprising. His attitude was upright, polished, and good. He really excelled. When he smiles, the staff also smiles."
