Hee-jin from 'The Return of Superman' has revealed the birth story of her second child, Popo, for the first time.
On the 30th, the KBS entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' (hereafter referred to as 'Superman is Back') aired an episode titled 'Thank you for being born,' during which kids' content creator Hee-jin's birth story of her second child, Popo, was unveiled.
The day before the birth, Hee-jin cut her daughter Chae-yu's nails and said, "I couldn't cut them while I was away." When Chae-yu asked, "Where is mom going?" Hee-jin replied, "Mom is going to get Popo. Mom has to stay with Popo for twenty nights. Are you okay with that?" Chae-yu answered more maturely than expected.
On the day of the birth, in contrast to the mature Chae-yu, Hee-jin seemed reluctant to leave and gave a heartfelt hug before moving on. Inside the car, Hee-jin shared, "I'm nervous too, but I'm really thirsty and hungry, so I hope it ends quickly. That's how I feel."
As she thought about the things she wanted to eat, she arrived at the hospital. One hour before the cesarean section, Hee-jin said, "I don't feel nervous, but my body seems to be tense. My stomach hurts. Thinking about the urinary catheter, I still have to be brave going in."
Finally, it was time to head to the operating room. Her husband encouraged her, saying, "Honey, go and come back well. You can do it, right? Don't be too scared and come back safe."
On July 10, 2025, Popo was born, but Hee-jin shed tears. It turned out that although they planned to perform only a lower body anesthesia, the right side was not sufficiently anesthetized, leading to an emergency general anesthesia for the surgery. Hee-jin expressed, "I was very upset. Not being able to see the baby was heartbreaking."
Previously, Hee-jin had given up on anesthesia and had prepared her first greeting for the occasion. She expressed her frustration at not meeting her second child, saying, "As soon as I woke up, I asked if the baby was okay. I asked how much the baby weighed."
The second child, Popo, was born healthy at 3.08 kg, and despite the pain from the cesarean section, Hee-jin made efforts to get up. In an interview, she mentioned, "It feels like my organs are spilling out, as the saying goes."
While it took a long time to stand up during the first birth, Hee-jin gathered her strength and got up to meet her second child. Finally holding the second child in her arms, she said, "The second one was almost necessary rather than a choice," and added, "Even though it's the second one, it's amazing. I can't believe it came from my belly."
