Sohee, originating from Alice (real name Kim Sohee), has ultimately taken legal action against rumors directed at her.
On the 30th, Sohee stated on her social account, "I have recently experienced uncomfortable situations due to absurd falsehoods and have decided to proceed with legal action. The case has currently been forwarded to law enforcement agencies," reporting the news of the prosecution's referral of a netizen who filed a complaint for defamation and threats involving the dissemination of false information.
She explained, "From my trainee days until my debut in 2017, up until my retirement, I have never once acted in a way that was not dignified in the entertainment industry. I've always looked ahead, quietly doing my best in my position, and I had pride in my work, believing I had been walking with responsibility. Then, at a birthday party for a colleague I shot with, I met my current husband, and it naturally led to marriage, and now I am spending the most stable and happiest time in my life."
She continued, "In the midst of this, I received reports that false posts about me were uploaded by accounts targeting celebrities or influencers with many followers. At first, I thought it was not a big deal and just issued a warning. However, the perpetrator began to cross the line. Starting with absurd stories that I met my husband while working at a bar, manipulated conversation screenshots such as 'I saw Sohee' and 'I worked somewhere' were created and disseminated, and threats were made by mentioning my family."
Sohee noted, "I have lived more diligently than anyone else while engaging in activities in the entertainment industry, and because I did my best in my position, it has been very difficult for me to be in a situation where the sincerity and honor I've maintained for a long time are distorted and doubted. Fortunately, those who had been harmed by the perpetrator courageously reported to me directly, and thanks to that, the case was quickly forwarded to law enforcement agencies."
She stated, "I believe that shaking someone's life with falsehoods is not something that can be taken lightly. Although I initially viewed it as not a big deal since it was not true, I realized that such silence actually allows rumors to be accepted as truth in this world," and added, "This matter will go to the end without leniency to ensure that such things do not happen again."
Sohee participated in SBS 'K-Pop Star Season 6 - The Last Chance' in 2016, where she achieved the runner-up position as a member of the girl group 'Queens.' The following year, she joined the girl group Alice and appeared not only as a singer but also in the movie 'Idol Recipe,' and the dramas 'The Family of Ultra Man' and 'After School War Activities,' thus expanding her career as an actress.
However, in April of last year, she announced her marriage to a 15-year-older businessman with whom she had dated for a year, and she departed from her team and retired from the entertainment industry simultaneously.
