Actor Ham Seong-min shared his thoughts on the conclusion of the drama "Gyeonwoo and the Fairy."
The tvN Monday-Tuesday drama "Gyeonwoo and the Fairy" (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and EO Contents Group) concluded on the 29th with divine levels of popularity.
Ham Seong-min delivered a heartfelt performance as 'Model Student,' a classmate of Park Seong-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun) and Bae Gyeon-woo (played by Choo Young-Woo). He particularly showcased a strong presence by leading episodes involving spirits and suicide, establishing himself as a rising talent with solid acting skills and the ability to embody distinctive characters. Thus, we conducted a brief Q&A with Ham Seong-min.
◇ What are your thoughts on the conclusion of "Gyeonwoo and the Fairy"?
The time spent filming and preparing for "Gyeonwoo and the Fairy" was a precious and grateful journey. Thanks to the guidance of the director, the writer, the staff members, and my fellow actors, I learned a lot and could laugh immensely. I sincerely thank you. I also express my gratitude to the viewers who supported us until the end.
◇ What aspects did you focus on while portraying the character 'Model Student'?
I tried to express every scene and breath sincerely. I made an effort to minimize my tone to portray a shy character with complexes. Additionally, throughout the progress of the story, I aimed to express 'Model Student' becoming more free while interacting with friends.
◇ What is the most memorable scene for you?
In episode 9, the bathroom scene where 'Model Student' was approached by a spirit contemplating an extreme choice was particularly memorable. The line 'It's always my fault. Because of me, even Joo-seung...' encapsulated so many emotions, reflecting the feelings of 'Model Student' trying to protect a friend and not blaming others.
◇ Do you have any shooting episodes with actors Cho Yi-hyun or Choo Young-Woo?
With actor Cho Yi-hyun, we had previously worked together in the Netflix series "All of Us Are Dead," so we often relied on each other and smiled whenever our eyes met. With actor Choo Young-Woo, we created a fun memory by spontaneously staging an arm wrestling scene between 'Model Student' and Joo-seung on set, feeling like we were hanging out with classmates.
◇ What kind of actor do you want to become in the future?
I want to portray a wide variety of characters to the point where people say, 'Was this friend that friend?' At the same time, I will strive to be an actor who conveys the significance of the work to the viewers in an enjoyable way. I hope you will watch me kindly.
Meanwhile, the tvN "Gyeonwoo and the Fairy" is a gripping first love rescue romance featuring a boy destined to die and a shaman girl from Generation MZ attempting to prevent it. It concluded on the 29th, after finishing the 12 episodes.
