TWICE wrapped up their performance at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, thrilling 100,000 spectators, and today (30th) they pre-released their new song "ENEMY."
TWICE held a solo concert as part of their sixth world tour "THIS IS FOR" at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on July 26-27. About a year after their performance at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan, which set a record for being the first overseas female artist to enter, they joyfully reunited with local fans.
This tour presents a new direction in the performance industry by opening all seating at the venue 360 degrees and unfolding in an omnidirectional stage where the front stage is not specified. Approximately 100,000 spectators gathered over the two days to witness the overwhelming scale of TWICE's concert, and enthusiastic cheers followed an even more vibrant performance. The title track "ENEMY" from their sixth regular album, set to be officially released on August 27, along with a surprise preview of the stage for "Like 1," a song with lyrics by Jihyo, elevated audience satisfaction.
At midnight on the 30th, the audio source and music video for "ENEMY," which was first unveiled at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, were opened, continuing the excitement. The new song "ENEMY" contains the message, "No matter how many times you fail, you rise again. Ultimately, the wall to overcome is yourself." The music video depicts the theme of confronting oneself as is, overcoming conflicts, and blooming resolutely. Anticipation is growing for the regular album being released locally about a year after the release of their fifth regular album "DIVE" in July last year. Notably, Jihyo's role in directing the overall album, including the visual concept, tracks, and music video, adds to its uniqueness. The work infused with Jihyo's sensibility is expected to fill fans' hearts and deliver a strong impact.
Recently, TWICE has been actively enhancing their global presence with various activities, including the release of their fourth regular album "THIS IS FOR," the launch of a new world tour of the same name, and participation in the Netflix animation OST. As of August 2 (local time), they have re-proven their worldwide popularity as the track "TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)" from the OST album of "K-Pop Demon Hunters" in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart reached 76th place, and "Strategy," a track from TWICE's mini album 14, reached 92nd.
On August 2, they will take the stage as headliners at the large-scale music festival "Lollapalooza Chicago" in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, continuing their activity as a "global top girl group."
