Ive (IVE: An Yujin, Gaeul, Rai, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Lee Seo), known as the "MZ wannabe icon," will take part in the "2025 Coupang Play Series."
According to Coupang Play, Ive will showcase the opening kick-off and perform during halftime at the first match of the "2025 Coupang Play Series," held at Suwon World Cup Stadium at 8 p.m. on the 30th.
Ive expressed through their agency Starship Entertainment, "We are deeply honored and excited just to be part of such a meaningful game," and added, "We will do our best to convey positive energy to the fans and players present, so we ask for your interest and anticipation."
The "Coupang Play Series" is a friendly match that features world-renowned football clubs competing against K League stars. The addition of K-pop artist performances during halftime garners intense attention from global sports and music fans every year.
In the first match, where Ive will participate with the opening kick-off and halftime show, Team K League, which represents the K League, will face Newcastle United, the winner of the 2024/25 EFL Cup (League Cup). Ive is expected to deliver a special synergy created by football and K-pop through their hit song performances during the opening kick-off and halftime.
Since their debut in 2021, Ive has solidified their position as a leading K-pop group by producing numerous mega hits like "Love Dive," "After Like," "IM," and "Kitsch."
Particularly, last year they performed at globally renowned music festivals like "Lollapalooza Chicago" and "Summer Sonic 2024," earning the title of "emerging K-pop festival performance powerhouse," and recently made appearances at "Lollapalooza Berlin" and "Lollapalooza Paris," further cementing their status as a global artist.
They continue to enjoy tremendous popularity domestically.
