Comedian Jeong Kyung-mi has become the head of an English musical academy.
A new video titled "What is Jeong Kyung-mi's secret to success after quitting comedy and becoming the head of an English academy? (Jang Young-ran's housewarming)" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'A-level Jang Young-ran' on the 30th.
That day, Jeong Kyung-mi moved to a commercial area in Songdo with Jang Young-ran. Jeong Kyung-mi, who revealed that she has opened a new business site, said, "It's humble, but it's my new establishment. It's really an English musical academy that doesn't suit me."
The English musical academy run by Jeong Kyung-mi boasted an impressive scale. Jang Young-ran also noted, "She has succeeded. The view is good, and aren't the kids here doing musicals?"
In particular, Jang Young-ran confessed that she saw Jeong Kyung-mi's social media, saying, "My son did something in English. He didn't read the text, so I didn't know you had opened this place," bringing laughter.
However, Jeong Kyung-mi confessed an unexpected connection, saying, "Someone came and said they were a friend of the head of the academy. They said they were Jang Young-ran's brother-in-law," to which Jang Young-ran was surprised, saying, "It's really my sister-in-law who went there. I didn't even know."
Regarding the reason for starting the academy, Jeong Kyung-mi stated, "You can't speak English. I'm managing this. Much better teachers than me teach the kids," and added, "Musicals involve dancing, singing, and acting. Nowadays, there are many kids who can't even introduce themselves when asked."
She further revealed, "It's really beneficial for children's developmental processes, but I thought about what I could appeal to parents more, and that's when English came into play," and said, "I sometimes wonder if everything I've done until now leads to this. For 20 years in broadcasting, I've only felt tension, but here that's absent. Planning is also fun, and coming here makes me happy."
Meanwhile, Jeong Kyung-mi married comedian Yoon Hyung-bin in 2013 after an 8-year relationship. They have a son and a daughter.
