The group TOMORROW X TOGETHER is continuing the hot buzz of their new release by unveiling solo music videos for each member.
The regular 4th album of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, HueningKai), released on the 21st, tells a story about saving each other and the world through the act of 'calling out names', which is only possible when genuinely empathizing with each other. The main message of the album is 'together'. They have expressed their individual interpretations of 'together' through solo tracks, receiving praise that the overall completeness of the album has increased.
At midnight on the 30th, the music video for Yeonjun's solo track 'Ghost Girl' was released on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, and the music videos for Soobin's 'Sunday Driver', Taehyun's 'Bird of Night', HueningKai's 'Dance With You', and Beomgyu's 'Take My Half' are set to be released sequentially.
Yeonjun's solo track 'Ghost Girl' is a reggae rock genre that possesses both intensity and lyricism. It sings of a deadly love that willingly wants to get lost in a ghost-like partner who lingers in mind all day.
In this video, Yeonjun reveals the obsession and anguish brought about by love. He added the setting of an artist as a device to maximize the emotions. He delicately expresses unstable feelings by painting in a confused state or wandering the night streets.
The music video was filmed in London. The vintage buildings and alleys, along with London's unique atmosphere, enhance the immersion into Yeonjun's emotions in the video. The moths that repeatedly appear serve as a metaphorical device to articulate the song's theme, comparing the feelings of getting lost in a ghost-like partner to a moth drawn to a flame.
Yeonjun noted through his agency Big Hit Music, 'I wanted to express a stylish yet decadent image, so I had many ideas. I feel satisfied as it contains a look that I haven't shown before.'
The regular 4th album of TOMORROW X TOGETHER recorded 1,768,867 initial sales based on the Hanteo Chart (album sales within one week from the release date). Notably, about 1.43 million copies were sold on the very first day, instantly making it a million seller. In Japan's Oricon, it broke the team's all-time weekly sales record (304,000 copies) and topped the latest weekly album ranking (as of Aug. 4, counting period: July 21–27), continuing its box office success.
