A shocking confession from a woman in her 30s has come to light, revealing that her family is on the brink of collapse due to social media addiction, and her bank balance has gone negative.
The episode aired on the 28th on KBS Joy's 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller,' depicting a woman's struggle who, despite facing a crisis in her marriage due to social media addiction, still couldn't let it go.
On that day, during the broadcast, 32-year-old housewife Cho Yoon-seo explained the start of her social media addiction, saying, "I posted videos for fun without knowing anything, and as my followers increased, I got hooked. That's how I got deep into social media." Currently, she has stepped back from broadcasting activities and switched to a 'viewer mode', but she acknowledged that she still checks social media as soon as she wakes up in the morning and looks at it whenever she has a chance, indicating she remains in a deep state of addiction.
The problem is that social media addiction has adversely affected her married life. Ms. Cho Yoon-seo said she had contacted a male broadcaster for feedback related to her broadcasting activities and that in wanting to look good, she flattered him, but there were private questions that raised concerns with her husband. Her husband prepared divorce papers suspecting infidelity, and Ms. Cho Yoon-seo did not want a divorce, so she knelt down and apologized, wrote a letter of commitment, and deleted the social media app, thus overcoming the crisis.
However, her reflection did not last long. Ms. Cho Yoon-seo stated, "After a week, I started missing it again, and I reinstalled it and went back in," revealing that her addiction eventually extended to live shopping. Ms. Cho Yoon-seo impulsively bought cheap clothes and, even after organizing about 20 kg of clothes, could not stop her spending. When asked about her financial situation, she confessed, "It's gone negative," admitting to a financial crisis, and considering her husband's irregular income from his business, her impulsive spending seemed even more severe.
Seo Jang-hoon commented on Ms. Cho Yoon-seo's unnecessary spending on cheap items, saying, "There must be a reason why things are cheap, but don't you think it's unnecessary consumption to keep buying them? It's self-satisfaction, yet it's not easy to feel satisfied with cheapness. Knowing that it can't provide enough satisfaction, why do you keep buying? Are you satisfied with that action?"
In particular, Seo Jang-hoon diagnosed Ms. Cho Yoon-seo's addiction as stemming from past failures in broadcasting challenges and the 'lingering feelings' associated with them. It seems you don't want to let go of that connection."
Seo Jang-hoon warned her to face the harsh reality with brutal honesty. He stated, "If you keep living like this, you will end up a beggar. If this continues, there will be no way out.
