Moon Hee-jun revealed that he had a difficult time due to his father's absence.
In the episode of Channel A's "Friend Documentary – Dining Table for Four" (hereafter referred to as "Dining Table for Four") aired on the 28th, actor Kim Jeong-tae grants an opportunity to invite his close friends, singer Moon Hee-jun and baseball legend Kim Byung-hyun.
Moon Hee-jun said, "Now that I have had a child, I understand my father even less. My father left home about a month after my debut. He said, 'You have economic power, so I will leave.' He really left. At that time, I understood. I wasn't even married and thought there were issues between my mom and him. A child can't control that."
He added, "I unintentionally became a teenage head of a household. I started playing the father role at 19 years old. I lived like that until I got married and had a child. So, I understand even less now. I don't understand leaving the children and it started to make me angrier. I had a hard time back then." He then made a dark expression.
Park Kyung-rim asked whether he is currently in contact with his father, to which Moon Hee-jun replied, "I can't. Once, I contacted him suddenly because I missed him. My mom found out and got angry."
Moon Hee-jun said, "My mother passed away a few years ago. I personally delivered the obituary, but he didn't even come to the funeral home. I understood even less. I'm trying to be a good father to my children, but it might not work out. I want to be the dad who is there for them. That's why I stay home a lot, but my wife is shouting at me to leave."
Moon Hee-jun stated, "I started my singing career already in a lot of debt. When I debuted, I was living in a house without a bathroom. From that beginning, when I look for a house, I see homes with bathrooms in the children's rooms. I made sure my daughter's room has a bathroom."
