My lovely journey is a full-fledged healing trip sensibility drama that depicts the process of an idol-turned-travel reporter, who has never been the center of attention in life, understanding true success and the meaning of life while undertaking the travels commissioned to her.
In the drama, Gong Seung-yeon plays Kang Yeo-reum, a former idol and travel reporter.
Gong Seung-yeon, who is not only a former trainee at SM Entertainment but also the sister of TWICE's Jeongyeon, when asked if she received any advice from her younger sister, said, "I received a lot of help from my sister. Even if she didn't directly tell me, I can emotionally feel it, and seeing my sister I feel a lot.
Kim Jae-young plays Lee Yeon-seok, an elite from a prestigious engineering school who chose the path of a film director in search of his dreams.
Yoo Jun-sang, who plays O Sang-sik, the head of Ogu Entertainment, stated about his character, "He was a former boxer and the son of a doctor, but he has given up everything and come here.
He continued, "The original work is good, but our writer has thrown in some twists and elements of 'What will happen next? Why is this happening?'.
Hong Soo-hyun plays the role of Yoo Ha-na, the finance director of Ogu Entertainment.
Oh Hyun-jung, who largely takes responsibility for the operations of Ogu Entertainment, introduced himself as, "I am the manager for Yeo-reum. I do what needs to be done and despite seeming individualistic, I have dreams of living like the wind, always ready to help when the Ogu family needs it.
Director Kang Sol, when asked about the focus of the direction, replied, "When I first read the script, I felt the amazing power of the story.
While the character settings, especially that the protagonist is a former idol, are taken from the original work, the regional episodes have been newly structured by writer Jeong Hyeon.
Meanwhile, Yoo Jun-sang, who also produced the original soundtrack for this work, stated, "I love music, and I've been a musical actor for 30 years.
When asked about the romantic chemistry, Kim Jae-young explained, "We don't move as quickly as typical romantic comedies, and there are emotional and poetic parts.
Yoo Jun-sang also joked about the romantic line with Hong Soo-hyun, saying, "It was hard to even kiss."
On the other hand, regarding the news of season two even before the first broadcast, Director Kang Sol mentioned, "The production team and the actors are preparing to some extent.
Lastly, when asked about the key point to watch, Oh Hyun-jung said, "I want to name our drama #ShouldWeTakeABreak.
Kim Jae-young expressed, "It feels like eating home-cooked meals at my parents' house. It's warm, and I can feel that I can get to know it slowly.
Director Kang Sol added, "There is a line among Yeo-reum's dialogue in the drama: 'It seems that travel is to leave in order to return, to recharge energy to return to the places where loved ones are.'
