"Is there a deeper love than this?"
Koo Jun-yeob, a former DJ of the group Clone, approaches half a year since parting with his late wife, the Taiwanese actress Seo Hee-won, who passed away; he continues to stay by her side, conveying his deep emotions.
Seo Hee-won passed away on Feb. 2 in Tokyo, Japan, while traveling with family due to pneumonia. The sudden farewell came just before their 3rd wedding anniversary. The shock and sadness have been wholly felt by her husband Koo Jun-yeob, who has since ceased all activities and remained in Taiwan to personally take care of his late wife's funeral and her remains.
What became known through word of mouth was a 'devotion' beyond mere sadness. Koo Jun-yeob has been visiting the Jinbaoshan (Golden Treasure Mountain) cemetery where his wife is interred every day without fail, practicing profound love. Recently, he has even considered moving closer to the gravesite to express his desire to remember her from a closer distance.
Koo Jun-yeob's love has also transformed his body. In six months, he lost nearly 12 kg, spending each day outdoors to the point of tanning under the sun, watching over his late wife. Regarding this, Seo Hee-won's mother said, "The reason he is so tanned is that he has been there for Hee-won. If one encounters such a person in life, there's nothing more to wish for," expressing her heartfelt gratitude with tears.
An internet user in China happened to visit Seo Hee-won's grave and shared the story of her encounter with Koo Jun-yeob, saying, "He seemed like the person with the deepest love in the world." Such sincere actions from him are touching the hearts of not only the bereaved family but also strangers. A photo shared by an internet user captured Koo Jun-yeob sitting in front of the gravestone, which bore the inscription 'Remember Forever,' along with the Korean letters 'Junjun.' 'Junjun' is a nickname Koo Jun-yeob was affectionately called by Seo Hee-won during her lifetime.
The deceased's younger sister, Seo Hee-je, recently expressed her heartfelt feelings by saying, "Koo Jun-yeob's devotion to my sister brings great comfort to our family," and Koo Jun-yeob is currently working on a commemorative statue for Seo Hee-won's 1st death anniversary. He is actively participating in the production process, channeling his longing and love for his wife into art.
As Koo Jun-yeob confessed, "It was a precious gift that cannot be exchanged for anything in the world," it seems that his life continues to flow alongside his wife. Many people are sending quiet support as he demonstrates the true meaning of love through his actions.
