TOMORROW X TOGETHER has set a new record for its highest performance on the Oricon chart in Japan with its new album.
According to a July 29 article from Oricon, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Hueningkai) sold 304,000 copies of their 4th studio album, "The Star Chapter: TOGETHER," in the first week after its release, reaching the top of the latest weekly album rankings (as of Aug. 4, counting period: July 21–27). This is the highest weekly sales ever for TOMORROW X TOGETHER according to Oricon and surpasses their previous record set by their Japanese 2nd studio album, "SWEET," which had sold 303,000 copies.
With this achievement, TOMORROW X TOGETHER became the first overseas artist to have 12 albums consecutively rank first on the Oricon weekly album chart. They first reached the top of this chart in 2020 with "The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY" and showcased their solid strength by ranking first with every album they released thereafter. Since "minisode 2: Thursday's Child" in 2022, they have held the record for the most consecutive number ones by an overseas artist and have continued to break their own records with each comeback.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER's 4th studio album showed strong performance in the Japanese music market right after its release. It topped the LINE Music daily album chart on the first day and maintained its position for six consecutive days (as of July 22–27). The title track "Beautiful Strangers" also secured the number one spot on the daily song chart during the same period, proving the strength of its local fandom.
This album is the final page of the "The Star Chapter" following the previous work, "The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY." It tells a story of saving each other and the world through the act of "calling out names," which is only possible when genuinely empathizing with one another. The album has been well-received for its narrative, visual representation, and immersive performances, resulting in a highly polished album.
From July 30 to Aug. 3, music videos for the solo songs of each member included in the new album will be released sequentially. As the activities for the 4th studio album enter their second week, TOMORROW X TOGETHER is expected to continue generating hot topics with the unique charms of all five members.
