Actor Gong Seung-yeon expressed her feelings about playing the role of a 'former idol' in the work.
On the afternoon of the 29th, a production briefing for the new Channel A weekend drama 'My lovely journey' took place at the Shocking K-Pop Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The briefing was attended by actors Gong Seung-yeon, Yoo Joon-sang, Kim Jae-young, Hong Soo-hyun, Oh Hyun-jung, and director Kang Sol, who shared their thoughts.
'My lovely journey' is a healing trip emotion drama based on the novel of the same name by author Harada Maha, depicting the process of an idol-turned-travel reporter who has never had a center in life completing trips that have been requested of her and realizing the true meaning of success and life.
In the drama, Gong Seung-yeon plays the role of Kang Yeo-reum, a former idol and travel reporter. Gong Seung-yeon, who is an actual former trainee of SM Entertainment, garnered attention because her younger sister is known as TWICE's Jeongyeon.
When asked if she received any advice from Jeongyeon, Gong Seung-yeon noted, "I received a lot of help from my younger sister. Even if she didn't convey it directly in words, I could feel it emotionally, and I learned a lot by watching her."
She explained, "My sister didn't specifically tell me something, but as I continued to see her, I believe I received a lot of help from her emotions."
When asking if there was any coaching about the dance she performs on stage, Gong Seung-yeon honestly shared, "I was embarrassed, so I didn't show it to her. I didn't even tell my sister that I was dancing. I thought she would laugh at me," making everyone laugh.
Meanwhile, 'My lovely journey' will premiere on August 2 at 9:20 p.m.
