Choi Kyu-hwa emits an overwhelming presence as Je San-daegun in "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty."
The new tvN weekend drama "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" (directed by Jang Tae-yu, written by fGRD, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Film Korea and Jeong Universe) will premiere on Aug. 23 (Saturday). It is a survival fantasy romantic comedy drama about a chef who time slips to the best moment in the past and meets the worst tyrant, a king with absolute taste.
In the drama, Choi Kyu-hwa's character, Je San-daegun, is the half-brother of the late king and the uncle of the current king, Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae-min). He holds the position of head of the royal kitchen responsible for the ingredients for the king's meals, but he is too busy enjoying pleasures to be seen even once in the palace. Despite being a royal family member, he lives a life so extravagant that even other royals and officials shake their heads.
Je San-daegun, who roams the capital every day with a carefree smile, is in reality a cold-hearted person who does not hesitate to commit unspeakable acts. His every move is attracting attention like a ticking time bomb.
The released photos reveal a twist about Je San-daegun, who will play a significant role in the palace intrigue. While he hides his true self behind a hearty laugh in public, he reveals his cruel nature behind the mask in his own territory. It raises curiosity about what Je San-daegun's true identity is.
The two faces of Je San-daegun will be portrayed more powerfully through the performances of actor Choi Kyu-hwa, who brings a heavy presence. Having drawn in 10 million viewers three times with his solid acting that transcends good and evil in movies and dramas, Choi Kyu-hwa's portrayal of the villainous character of Je San-daegun is highly anticipated.
Choi Kyu-hwa's transformation that will show an unseen face of a villain as Je San-daegun can be confirmed in the new tvN weekend drama "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty," which will premiere on Aug. 23 (Saturday) at 9:10 p.m.
