Actor Yoon Kyung-ho shared his thoughts on the 'Pingae-go' Rookie Award.
On the 28th, an interview with actor Yoon Kyung-ho for the film 'My Daughter is a Zombie' (directed by Pil Gam-seong, provided/distributed by NEW, produced by Studio N) took place at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The film 'My Daughter is a Zombie' is a comic drama about a father who goes into secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie in this world, and Yoon Kyung-ho plays the role of Dong-bae, an old friend of Jung-hwan (played by Jo Jung-seok), adding depth to the story.
Yoon Kyung-ho has garnered attention not only for the popularity of the Netflix series 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' but also for showcasing his charisma on the web entertainment show 'Pingae-go.'
When asked if he felt the ongoing popularity, Yoon Kyung-ho said, "These days, after appearing on Pingae-go, I hear a lot of feedback from those around me. I actually saw some comments. There were comments saying that there was only talk about me in the Pingae-go comments. I was looking at them for quite a while, and I saw a comment that said, 'Yoon Kyung-ho, are you watching this?' I was taken aback. I almost commented back, saying 'Yes.' I really felt that there."
He continued, "Also, I mentioned my wife on Pingae-go, and she said she has been receiving a lot of messages. Friends from the maternity ward and even elementary school friends reached out. Even friends who don't usually contact me said, 'I heard your husband talking about you.' They mentioned, 'It must be tough since he talks a lot at home.' Seeing my family and friends feel this keen interest made me realize the rising warmth toward it."
Furthermore, he said, "I got the nickname 'Only the First Verse' because of how Jung-seok introduced me. When I went to a stage greeting and saw everyone holding up 'Only the First Verse' signs, I thought about how much interest there was. Being with Jung-seok, I know there's a lot of reaction toward him, but from my perspective, it feels pretty much similar."
Especially when asked if he expected the 'Pingae-go Rookie Award,' he said, "I'm not expecting anything. In fact, I didn't anticipate this kind of reaction at all. I want to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to those who left comments. It feels like a joy that's as good as receiving an award, just being mentioned is enough."
He added, "The Pingae-go year-end award ceremony will surely gather some incredible individuals, right? The thought of winning an award there makes me feel nervous just thinking about it. I just thank you for even the mention. After reading comments, I noticed there are strong candidates like Han Sang-jin. Up until then, I thought Han Sang-jin was the strong contender, but I hope the more deserving person receives it."
