Actors set to enrich 'For First Love' are gearing up.
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'For First Love,' scheduled to air its first episode on Aug. 4, released stills on the 28th of Kim Seon-young, Yang Kyung-won, Kim Mi-kyung, Kang Ae-sim, Jeong Young-joo, and Park Soo-young, who have come together for laughter, emotion, and reality, directed by Yoo Je-won and written by Seong Woo-jin, and produced by Studio Dragon and Showrunners.
'For First Love' depicts the story of a single mother and her medical student daughter, who, unexpectedly facing a second act in life, decide to live for today's happiness instead of tomorrow, encountering the beginning, not the end, of love. Sometimes cheerful and heartwarming, and at times thrilling and touching, their story offers a full package of laughter, emotion, empathy, and healing.
Director Yoo Je-won, known for warm and delicate productions such as 'Mom's Friend's Son,' 'One Hit Scandal,' and 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' collaborates with writer Seong Woo-jin, who possesses solid and fresh writing skills. Notably, actors whose names are synonymous with trust, including Yum Jung-ah, Park Hae-joon, Choi Yoon-ji, Kim Min-kyu, Kim Seon-young, Yang Kyung-won, Kim Mi-kyung, Kang Ae-sim, Jeong Young-joo, and Park Soo-young, have joined the cast, exciting drama fans as they await the premiere.
Meanwhile, the released photos heighten expectations for the actors' unwavering performances and character portrayals. First, 'Seon-young,' appearing at a construction site in an apron, captivates with her cool smile. She plays a generous restaurant owner at the construction site, an irreplaceable friend of Lee Ji-an (played by Yum Jung-ah) and takes on the role of Lee Hyori's (played by Choi Yoon-ji) father figure. Kim Seon-young radiates an irreplaceable presence with a character that fits her perfectly.
The casual yet hip appearance of 'Tae-oh' also draws attention. As the representative of a surfing club who embraces relaxation as a life aesthetic, he often gets treated as the neighborhood idiot due to a fine line between curiosity and meddlesomeness. Yang Kyung-won, beloved for his unique personality and charm, plays the role of 'Tae-oh,' completing a character that is impossible to hate. The appearance of 'Moon-hee,' who conceals mysterious stories behind a blank expression, is also intriguing; she suddenly appears before the mother-daughter duo of Lee Ji-an and Lee Hyori. Attention is focused on Kim Mi-kyung's performance, generating questions and immersion with her concealed identity.
On the other hand, the characters of the 'Cheonghae' village residents, marked by the scent of humanity, are also interesting. Kang Ae-sim breathes vitality into the drama as 'Mimi Halmae,' a local elder who has safeguarded the Mimi General Store for many years. Her trademark round glasses, bobbed hair, and curious expression raise expectations for the cute, gossipy character. Jeong Young-joo takes on the role of 'Go You-jang,' a renowned female village head with six consecutive terms, while Park Soo-young plays 'Go You-jang's husband,' a relaxed yet kind-hearted partner. This couple's sharp banter, representative of 'Te-to-nyeo' and 'Egeun-nam,' is expected to add humor to various scenes.
The production team of 'For First Love' stated, "As the first broadcast approaches, the filming site is hotter than ever. The strong teamwork and synergy developed in a friendly atmosphere will be reflected in the main episodes," and added, "We hope you look forward to the actors who will depict amusing characters and warm relationships, ensuring quality."
Meanwhile, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'For First Love' will premiere on Aug. 4 at 8:50 p.m.
