(Following Interview ②) Actor Yoon Kyung-ho shared behind-the-scenes details about his Thor costume in "My Daughter is a Zombie."
On the 28th, an interview with actor Yoon Kyung-ho took place at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, regarding the film "My Daughter is a Zombie" (directed by Pil Gam-seong, provided/distributed by NEW, produced by Studio N).
The film "My Daughter is a Zombie" is a comedic drama about a doting father who undertakes secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie in this world.
Yoon Kyung-ho portrays Dong-bae, a long-time friend of Jung-hwan (played by Jo Jung-seok), enriching the narrative. Regarding the much-discussed "Thor costume," he confessed, "I thought it was my hidden card and my kick. But when the makeup topic came up, 'Harley Quinn' was mentioned."
He said, "So at first, I thought, 'I have to accept it.' But then I wondered, 'Would it be okay?' While looking for references, I became curious. What reason could there be for Dong-bae to choose Harley Quinn just because they get a discount on amusement park entry for cosplaying? Is there an obsession with the original course? Or is it a preference? I was also worried that it might come across that way, and I was pondering how to find the rationale."
He continued, "Then I thought that (the Harley Quinn costume) might have a reverse effect. When I brought it up with the director, he seemed to think similarly. Eventually, Thor came up. This is something that anyone might want to try at least once. I could potentially have the muscles that I usually don't have. I think Thor will be enjoyable in many ways, and it seems like there will be less risk."
Still, Yoon Kyung-ho remarked, "But I didn't expect it to be this high quality. The makeup team really put their soul into it, and they got me a truly expensive wig, and I wondered, 'Can this really come out of Eunbong-ri?' So I thought we should just half-heartedly do something else. If you look closely, the shoes are rubber boots." He added with a smile, "But everyone said the blonde hair and muscular physique suited me well. I had a unique experience as well."
