Ashley, former member of the group Ladies' Code, has ended a six-year relationship.
Recently, Ashley released a video titled "(Again) Living Alone" on her personal YouTube channel. In the video, she frankly shared her current situation of living alone after experiencing a breakup with her recent partner.
Ashley said, "I broke up with my boyfriend of six years, and I moved out of the house we shared into a new space," adding, "Right after the breakup, I felt overwhelmed just being in Korea, so I briefly went to New York."
She noted, "It was my first time breaking up with someone I lived with, so everything felt strange and difficult. I still haven't finished unpacking," and added that regarding the past two months, "I'm still healing, but I'm starting to regain some peace."
Ashley also shared, "After the breakup, I really thought my life was over. But I realized, after talking with family and friends, that 'this is not the end, it's just the end of a relationship.' I have to keep going with my life."
She continued, "At first, I felt embarrassed and shy to bring up the breakup. However, after thinking about it, I realized this is not something to be ashamed of; it's a part of life that can happen to anyone," and said, "While I can't share everything, I think breakups need to be discussed."
Furthermore, she remarked, "I don't think breaking up is a failure. I truly did my best and have no regrets," adding, "I believe there's a reason why something like this happened at this time," gently offering comfort to those who are experiencing similar pain.
Meanwhile, Ashley debuted in 2013 with the group Ladies' Code. Just a year after her debut in 2014, she endured the tragedy of losing members Go Eun-bi and Kwon Ri-se to a traffic accident and continued to work with the remaining members. The group concluded its official activities after the end of their contract in 2020.
