Actor Kim Jung-tae confessed to living a life as a credit delinquint.
On the 28th, Channel A's "Close Friends Documentary – Four-Person Dining Table" (hereinafter referred to as Four-Person Dining Table) featured actor Kim Jung-tae granting time to invite his close friends, singer Moon Hee-jun and baseball legend Kim Byung-hyun.
Kim Jung-tae said, "I have my professional self and my family member self. I have felt this a lot since my debut. Even when there was a lot of fuss over my acting, I had to turn around and deliver chicken. I had to deliver to construction sites, and I started to feel a sense of disconnection within myself. What is the real me? Is it living day by day? Fame and monetary income do not correlate directly. Out of a hundred concerns, 1 or 2 are about acting, and the rest are about life."
Kim Jung-tae added, "It may sound arrogant, but I think living life is harder than acting. It seems I have been under a lot of stress since I started acting at a young age."
Kim Jung-tae confessed, "During 'Friends,' the production fees were taken away, even though I went for auditions and appeared. When my father's business failed, all the liabilities fell on me, and I became a credit delinquent. Among the 70 actors in the agency, I was the only one living in a goshiwon. That was around the time I was filming the movie 'Sunflower.' I had nowhere to stay. At that time, I briefly stayed at a homeless shelter near Seoul Station."
Kim Jung-tae revealed, "After the stage greeting for 'Sunflower,' I felt unwell. I couldn't stand up. I didn't have money for hospital bills. I didn't even have 1 million won at home. There was some facility in Gimhae. I had been there. That was in 2006 or 2007. I was too embarrassed to talk about it anywhere. People thought I was making a lot of production fees, but I wasn't. Miraculously, I got better."
He said, "Someone warned, 'Be cautious in the third one.' I had major surgery for liver cancer. My heart became devout. I was told my liver was so bad that surgery couldn't be performed. Since then, I developed a habit of sleeping on my side. I asked what the relationship between illness and stress was. They say toxins come out of the body when stressed. I had to support my family. I worked hard to protect my family," tearing up.
Kim Jung-tae joyfully said, "I was freed from credit delinquency at the age of forty. I asked, 'What's the best credit card?' At forty, I got a credit card in my name."
