Actor Jin Sun-kyu has fallen victim to a phishing incident on social media.
On the 28th, Jin Sun-kyu's agency, El Julai Entertainment, stated through their official social media that, "Recently, there have been reports of damages caused by a social media account impersonating actor Jin Sun-kyu and direct messages (DMs), and we urge everyone to be cautious."
The agency emphasized that "Jin Sun-kyu does not operate any other social media accounts besides his personal Instagram. We also clearly state that we do not run any separate accounts other than our official accounts on Instagram and X."
Furthermore, they added, "Company representatives and our affiliated actors do not contact individuals personally or make financial demands." They also urged fans to be especially cautious to prevent damage caused by demands for money from impersonating accounts.
Finally, they reported that "We will do our best to prevent any damage to our fans through ongoing monitoring and will take legal action if necessary."
Meanwhile, Jin Sun-kyu will appear in the Netflix series "Aema," which is scheduled to be released on August 22.
