On that day, 'Zzanbro' featured Won Jina and Dex from the ENA drama 'The Defects'. Won Jina said that Dex's character, which appears as a 'villain', has a narrative and is such a pitiful character that he cannot help but be loved. In response, Shin Dong-yeob pointedly noted, 'Sure, it must feel good, so you probably did it', to which Dex replied, 'That's right.'
Won Jina praised Dex's acting passion, stating, '(Dex) is genuinely pure. After the reading, he asked, 'Sister, was this role that important?' He thought it was a small role since it was his first time acting, but he showed no greed. He came in saying, 'Since it's the first time, I'll take it step by step,' and once he realized that on set, his passion for acting was tremendous.'
When asked if he had ever learned acting separately, Dex candidly replied, 'I haven't had that experience. I wondered what I could compensate for that. I thought I should be proactive about doing anything when I get to the set. I'm grateful that there were many action scenes.'
Shin Dong-yeob said, 'I'm confident in action scenes. There aren't many lines, and there seemed to be some action scenes, so I did it,' and Dex exclaimed in surprise, 'That's accurate. The biggest reason I chose this project was that there were no lines. I can't let my shortcomings show. My strength is using my body, but I'm still lacking a lot as an actor. I don't want to be a burden.' He stated that he decided to appear because it is a taciturn character.
Won Jina remarked, 'It's as if he was born with that look. He said, 'Sister, I'll be gentle,' but when filming starts, he really goes all out. His expression changed.' Dex also commented, 'No matter how poorly I act, if I'm with someone who does well, I seem to improve a bit too. There's something to that.'
During a conversation with Dex, Shin Dong-yeob expressed that he understood why people like Dex. Dex explained, 'I think of myself as a rolling stone. To avoid being disliked, I believe I need to have more attitude. I'm not someone who prepared to be a celebrity. I also serve as a military personnel. I'm humble because I'm self-aware and I strive to avoid making mistakes wherever I go.'
Recently caught up in a controversy regarding his acting skills, Dex revealed that he is currently taking acting classes. He explained, 'I'm trying to fill the gaps from 'The Defects'. Now, I'm also taking acting classes.' Shin Dong-yeob advised that one should consistently take classes even when there are no projects.
