In 'When Life Gives You Tangerines', actress Kim Geum-soon, who left a strong impression, touched hearts with her hidden life story.
On the 25th, KBS2TV's 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' aired with actress Kim Geum-soon appearing with her sons, honestly sharing her life in Seoul and her life as a struggling actress.
Kim Geum-soon confessed, "After coming to Seoul, everything was unfamiliar. I started acting again to make a living," adding, "It wasn't because I wanted to become a star, but it was a means to feed my two sons."
Having been on stage for theater for 15 years before marriage, he received acting offers again and took on film and drama roles. "I was someone who had 0.00001% experience in media acting. People around me suggested that it would help with my living. I circulated profile photos taken at home to various production companies and started getting casting offers for short films," he recalled.
He said, "I was able to earn money for side dishes through acting, and I worked hard with that thought in mind," adding, "I did my best regardless of the roles. That's how I gradually expanded my presence in the film industry."
In fact, Kim Geum-soon also worked part-time at a chicken restaurant and a lunchbox store. He confessed, "I worked to remove fat from chickens at the chicken restaurant, and since I did well, they asked me to fry as well. At the lunchbox store, I managed to prepare three to four side dishes easily."
During that time, he received an offer to appear in the film 'Train to Busan', and he revealed, "I was able to live purely from acting only four years ago," surprising many.
His sons expressed their respect, saying, "Although life was tough, Mom lived fiercely without a word of complaint. She always tried to give us the best."
Kim Geum-soon said, "I am not a special parent. Every parent lives for their children. I am truly grateful that my children have grown up healthy and I feel sorry for not being able to take good care of them." She added, "My children are the joy of my life. Thanks to them, I could live diligently."
