Kim Geum-soon, who appeared on Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, shocked everyone by confessing about a traumatic robbery incident she experienced in Brazil.
In the episode broadcast on the 25th, Kim Geum-soon was seen preparing Brazilian home cooking and reminiscing about her married life in Brazil and her childhood spent with her two sons.
That day, Kim Geum-soon said, "I went to Brazil to meet a friend with my pansori teacher, and I met my ex-husband who lived in Brazil and got married." She added, "I got married at 29 and lived in Brazil for 10 years, and I had both of my sons in Brazil."
However, it was not all happy times. Kim Geum-soon recalled that she experienced life-threatening situations in Brazil, saying, "Six robbers broke into the house and caught my son's neck from behind the elevator," shocking everyone.
Her eldest son recounted, "The robbers tried to take my younger brother. They said if we didn't be quiet, they would hit us and knock us out." At that time, the eldest was 9 years old and the youngest was 5. Fortunately, the police responded quickly, and the situation was resolved with theft of valuables, but Kim Geum-soon revealed, "I developed such a severe trauma that I couldn't ride in an elevator for several years."
She said, "After that incident, I returned to Korea" and shared, "I lived with my two sons at my parents' house in Jinju. The kids ate Korean food for the first time, and they couldn't speak Korean, so the dialects they heard at school sounded like foreign languages to them." However, she added, "I felt their learning ability was amazing as I saw them quickly mastering standard Seoul dialect."
Kim Geum-soon stated, "Thanks to the difficult times we shared, my sons and I became bonded like comrades." She remarked, "Because we almost lost our lives, I learned to be grateful and humble. The 10 years in Brazil were the most precious and greatest gifts of my life."
