'Jun Hyun-moo's Plan 2' featured Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube discovering hidden culinary spots in a small city in Jeolla Province with their 'food friend' Baek Jin-hee.
In the 39th episode of MBN's variety show 'Jun Hyun-moo's Plan 2', which aired on the 25th, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) embarked on a food trip to feast on hidden culinary gems in a small city in Jeolla Province, known as the '55th Street'. They explored must-try places, from a pork soup restaurant right across from the Hwangnyong Livestock Market in Jangseong, to a local oyster jjampong restaurant highly recommended by Jangseong native Ko Eun-ah, and enjoyed the 'Deokja Course' in Yeonggwang, providing viewers with vicarious healing.
On that day, Jun Hyun-moo declared, "Today is a special feature on hidden culinary spots in Jeolla Province. We're going to visit different eup and myeon regions." He then led Kwak Tube to Jangseong, which is famous for its 'Korean beef'. First, the two met a live cow at the Hwangnyong Livestock Market, the center of livestock auctions in Jeollanam-do, before moving on to a soup restaurant right across. However, Jun Hyun-moo questioned, "There's a cow right in front of us; do you want to eat it?" prompting a moment of realization, but he felt relieved when the owner said, "We serve pork soup here." A moment later, as he took a spoonful of the soup, Jun Hyun-moo praised, "It's really delicious. Game over. This is the best pork soup I've had on 'Jun Hyun-moo's Plan.'" Kwak Tube, hailing from Busan, the home of pork soup, added, "I really hope Busan folks come here," showing a thumbs-up.
After enjoying the 'best pork soup' in Jangseong and wrapping up a satisfying breakfast, Jun Hyun-moo hinted, "Today's 'food friend' is someone I'm really close with, and I frequently enjoy your YouTube channel." The two then set out to meet their 'food friend' Baek Jin-hee. However, blindfolded Kwak Tube shouted, "It's Jin-hee!" causing everyone to burst into laughter. With Baek Jin-hee having joined them, the trio headed to the oyster jjampong restaurant highly recommended by Ko Eun-ah. In front of the restaurant, they connected with Ko Eun-ah via phone, who asked Jun Hyun-moo, "Why did you go to Jangseong? Are you there to meet my dad? Are we really getting married?" which left the scene in shock. Ko Eun-ah continued with a 'food tip', saying, "Make sure to order the jjampong rice," and the trio who actually ordered it excitedly showcased their stormy eating broadcast.
Next, Jun Hyun-moo suggested, "Now let's go meet 'Deokja'" and took Kwak Tube and Baek Jin-hee to Yeonggwang. In the car, Kwak Tube suddenly asked Baek Jin-hee, "It seems you meet (your close friend Jun Hyun-moo) often; how is he as a man?" Jun Hyun-moo expected a nice answer, even though he commented on the "very direct question," but Baek Jin-hee responded without much enthusiasm, stating, "Oh, yeah, he's great. He's very charming and kind."
Arriving at the restaurant with a lively chemistry, the three asked, "Is Deokja here?" playfully, and the owner replied, "Yes, but it's not in season. Right now, it's the season for jack mackerel." To this, Baek Jin-hee reacted a bit late, asking, "Oh, is Deokja a fish?" making Jun Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube laugh out loud. Once they were seated, 'Deokja sashimi' was served alongside Jeolla-style side dishes. Following the owner's recommendation, they enjoyed Deokja sashimi paired with gochujang and mustard leaf kimchi, exclaiming, "Wow!" in amazement.
Meanwhile, Kwak Tube asked Baek Jin-hee about her debut days. She revealed, "I was scouted on the street in Sinchon when I was in the 3rd year of middle school. The advertisement I shot back then was for the '9 o'clock news' broadcast." Everyone was surprised by Baek Jin-hee's statement of debuting as the 'news girl', and she reminisced, "There were comments like, 'Why did she, a regular person, get to be (the news girl)?' After being the news girl, I started getting contacted by entertainment agencies to begin acting." Just as their conversation was lively, the Deokja braised dish that would conclude the 'Deokja Course' was served, and the three joyfully exclaimed, "Eating Deokja meat in sauce is really delicious. Unbelievable!"
As the food trip with Baek Jin-hee came to a heartwarming conclusion, the exploration of hidden culinary spots in 'Jeolla Province small cities' will continue to be broadcasted on Friday, August 1st, at 9:10 p.m.
