The legend of American professional wrestling, Hulk Hogan (born Terry Gene Bollea), passed away due to a sudden heart attack, while comedian Kim Shin-young expressed her sorrow.
Kim Shin-young posted on her Instagram on the 25th, "My 7-year-old hero #HulkHogan #RIP, my hero who always appeared on WWF's Saturday Night at 2 when I was 7 years old," commemorating Hulk Hogan.
The day before, American entertainment media TMZ reported, "Hulk Hogan was found collapsed due to a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida, that morning, and was immediately transported to the hospital, but ultimately passed away." At the scene, police and emergency responders were dispatched, and the exact cause and circumstances of death are expected to be officially announced through a police briefing soon.
A close acquaintance of the deceased said, "With a heavy heart and deep sadness, I share the news of the passing of a legend. Terry Bollea, known and loved worldwide as 'Hulk Hogan,' has left us today," expressing condolences. He continued, "During this painful time, we ask that you respect the privacy of the family and friends. I hope that millions of fans worldwide who were influenced by his life can find comfort in the memories they hold of him. He may have left us, but he will never be forgotten," honoring the legacy of the deceased.
Hulk Hogan was a representative superstar of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) from the 1980s to the early 2000s and was undeniably an icon of wrestling. He also performed under the ring name 'Hollywood Hogan,' winning the WWE Championship at least six times, gaining worldwide popularity with his distinctive character and charisma.
His blonde hair, red headband, yellow tank top, and muscular physique became his signature look, and his unique ceremony of touching his ear, known as the 'Hogan pose,' drew cheers from countless fans.
He was enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, officially entering the ranks of 'living legends.' He continued to engage with fans through various activities such as broadcasts, advertisements, and fan meetings.
Recently, health concerns were raised. Especially in May of this year, after neck surgery, rumors of imminent death surfaced, but Hogan's camp denied this, describing it as "a simple recovery process." However, in the end, he left behind a tragic farewell without any warning to his fans.
With this unexpected sad news, professional wrestling fans worldwide were plunged into shock. On social media and online communities, tributes are pouring in, stating, "A hero who made the golden age of wrestling" and "A childhood idol." WWE has also expressed deep condolences over Hulk Hogan's death and is reportedly preparing tribute content.
