The group ILLIT will take the stage at a major Chinese music awards ceremony for the second consecutive year.
ILLIT (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) posted a poster for their appearance at the TIMA International Music Awards (TMElive International Music Awards, hereafter 'TIMA') on their official Weibo on the 25th.
'TIMA' is a music awards show newly established this year by Tencent Music Entertainment, which owns China's largest music platform, and will be held at the Galaxy Arena in Macau on August 22-23. ILLIT will perform on the 23rd, the second day of 'TIMA,' meeting local fans.
ILLIT was also invited to last year's TMEA Tencent Music Entertainment Awards, one of the representative music awards ceremonies in the Chinese-speaking region. At that time, they left a deep impression by leading sing-alongs on the festival stage.
ILLIT's popularity in China is evident. Their debut song 'Magnetic' topped QQ Music's 'New Song Real-Time Chart' upon release in March last year, garnering significant attention. The song also reached the top of the 'New Song Daily Chart' and ranked 2nd on QQ Music's 'Hot Song Chart.' Since then, ILLIT has been expanding its fandom by initiating a dance challenge that caters to the tastes of the 10-20 age group on Chinese platforms.
ILLIT's global activities continue. They entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with their mini album 'Bomb,' achieving the remarkable feat of placing all their albums released since debut on this chart. In Japan, 'Bomb' surpassed the sales of their previous album on the first day of its release and dominated the upper echelons of prominent music charts in Japan.
Bolstered by this momentum, ILLIT will release their first single 'Toki Yo Tomare' (original title 時よ止まれ) in Japan on September 1, formally debuting there. They will also hold a fan concert titled '2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN JAPAN' at Pia Arena MM in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture on August 10-11 and at Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka on September 3-4, spending special time with fans.
ILLIT will perform their follow-up song 'Jellyous' on KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' today (25th) and on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' tomorrow (26th).
