MONSTA X member Kihyun is set to captivate the home audience with his refreshing vocals.
The original soundtrack (OST) Part.1 'Kihyun (MONSTA X) - SURF,' performed by Kihyun for the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'The Winning Try' (written by Lim Jin-ah, directed by Jang Young-seok) will be released today (25th) at 6 p.m. on various music platforms.
'The Winning Try' (hereafter 'Try') is an unpredictable comedy-sports drama featuring the quirky director 'Joo Ka-ram' (played by Yoon Gye-sang) and the perennial underdog Hanyang High School rugby team racing towards victory in the national sports competition.
'Try' OST's first track 'SURF' is a rock genre song that highlights Kihyun's unique refreshing vocals, expressing the image of youth racing boldly towards the world, likened to riding summer waves. With exhilarating guitar riffs and refreshing synthesizer sounds, Kihyun's clear and powerful vocals blend together, promising a thrilling sensation as if racing across the vast sea.
Since debuting as the main vocalist of MONSTA X in 2015, Kihyun has gained the moniker 'the god of K-pop' with his explosive vocal ability and diverse vocal colors that transcend genres, receiving much love from music fans. In 2022, he began his activities as a solo artist by releasing his first solo single 'Voyager' and mini album 'Youth,' solidifying his position by performing at various festival stages.
Additionally, after completing his military service in February, he confirmed his undeniable presence by participating in major domestic festival stages such as 'SOMEDAY PLEROMA 2025' and 'PEAK FESTIVAL 2025,' and showcased his unwavering live skills amidst the high-level performances during MONSTA X's complete concert '2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X,' which recently concluded, garnering enthusiastic responses from fans.
